  • Principal Pathologist  

    WuXi AppTec Pathologists contribute to a wide range of critical activities within Toxicology, Safety, and Biocompatibility. Testing including but not limited to study evaluation for nonclinical studies spanning all phases of drug development for pharmaceutical industries.
    Essential Job Functions: As a study pathologist, attend all key activities of preclinical studies regarding pathology, perform macroscopic and microscopic examination, evaluate pathological data and write comprehensive pathology report Function as a Peer review pathologist, take part in pathology peer review as SOP and protocol required Function as a Principle Investigator, responsible for pathology-related activities Conduct planned, long-term education and training for junior pathologists Communicate with sponsors to answer questions and discuss results regarding the pathology report. Provide consultation to Study Directors on studies. Ensure the compliance of various GLPs, comply protocol and SOPs during study activities Responsible for conducting toxicology and medical device studies in compliance with GLP/CNAS Perform other duties as assigned

  • The Senior Manager, Business Development drives sales growth in close coordination with WuXi Biology leadership. The Senior Business Development Manager will have an additional focus on penetrating certain assigned customers with significant growth opportunity, as assigned by management. Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Development, the Senior Manager, Business Development closes and implements growth opportunities with Companies in their region. The Senior Manager, Business Development’s most important means of interacting with customers and prospects is through face-to-face meetings and is responsible for achieving an assigned sales and profit goal.
    Identify key decision makers relative to WuXi Biology Services business for potential contact Generate and Qualify leads and present opportunity(ies) to technical team and WuXi Biology Services senior leadership on weekly basis. Facilitate business meeting with WuXi AppTec with proper agenda, attendees, focus on opportunity and follow-up; meeting summary and action items Project professional image of WuXi Biology Services as solutions provider with clearly articulated messages Support proposal writing with technical team with emphasis on consistency, quality of proposal; presentation of proposal to customer Support proposal negotiation to close contract as defined by supervisor Point of contact for WuXi Biology Services and customer; ensure communication channels; pro-actively identify areas of growth opportunity; ensure stable relationship, identify issues which could jeopardize partnership; pose solutions Effective representation of WuXi Biology Services at various meetings/conferences; event planning and execution Work with senior leadership during crisis management Maintain excellent relationships with internal business partners at WuXi AppTec. Facilitate customer travels to China Effective communication skills both internally and externally to ensure teamwork to achieve common goals across Discovery Services unit and be open for mentoring to effective techniques and sales strategies Travel Requirements: If local 40% out of office travel day visits (not overnight) to clients plus up to 20% overnight travel to attend conferences.  If remote 25% travel overnight to visit clients and attend conferences.
    Experience / Education:       Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (preferably in biology). with 3+ years industrial experience and at least two years of business development experience preferred Experience in CRO is a plus/preferred Technical Skills /   Knowledge: Demonstrates a broad understanding of discovery leading to candidate selection and preclinical development Independence/   Accountability: Demonstrates the ability to a self-starter Functions in a self-motivated and highly flexible manner Able to work independently Must be organized and detailed-oriented Must be a team player Problem Solving: Possesses proven experience in creating or capitalizing on opportunities leading to successful outcomes, ideally with Business Development relevance Leadership Activities: Independently identifies potential prospects Coordinates with other BD and scientific counterparts to provide appropriate solutions to clients.   • Associate Director, Project Management (Oligo and Peptide) Area of focus: Discovery or medicinal chemistry Job Location: Remote USA with 10% travel within USA or to China   WuXi TIDES, a leading Contract Research and Development Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO), is an integral part of the WuXi AppTec’s subsidiary WuXi STA. WuXi TIDES offers our worldwide partners efficient, flexible, and high-quality solutions for the drug development of oligonucleotides, peptides and related synthetic conjugates (“TIDES” drug). We greatly simplify the TIDES drug development by providing all discovery, CMC development and the entire manufacturing supply chain under one roof.   Job Summary:  Responsible for managing projects within WuXi TIDES.  Leads the orderly progression of projects from the proposal stage through project completion by interacting with the client, technical team and business development team.  The incumbent will also participate in business development activities such as visiting existing or new clients and promoting WuXi TIDES’ services in conferences/trade shows.    
    Lead all project initiation and planning efforts. Participate in the implementation and execution of a given project. Establishes project objectives, timelines and deliverables. Defines project tasks and resource requirements. Closely monitor/control project progression to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget. Reports project progress to all key stakeholders.  Supports the technical team to investigate any project challenges by necessary risk assessment tools & techniques, then implements corrective measures. Serves as liaison with client contacts, manages day-to-day communications and organizes project team meetings. Represents company in project meetings, prepares meeting agenda and minutes, and follows up on action items. Evaluates and assesses project results and provides recommendations for future improvements. Provides support to the business development team joining customer visits, conferences or tradeshows. Facilitates the generation of Quotations/Proposals/Change Orders with inputs from key stakeholders for existing relationships.
    Technical Skills / Knowledge: Candidate should possess strong and effective project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record working cross-functionally across a wide variety of technical, business, and operational areas. Demonstrates good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development. Minimum of 5 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in discovery chemistry. Working knowledge and understanding of current regulations and industry trends for oligonucleotide and Solid State Peptide experience is a plus. Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) is preferred, but not required. Must have working knowledge of MS Office products, especially MS Project. Independence/Accountability: Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and highly flexible in this home-based position with up to 10% travel. Must be organized and detail-oriented.  Problem Solving: Proven experience in creating and carrying out successful plans and processes to solve complex problems.  Leadership Activities: Work closely with team members across all Discovery, CMC related business units and with the WuXi-TIDES management team to ensure coordination of all efforts and real-time communication with all stakeholders. Communication Skills:  Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills). Customary Education and Experience: Masters (MS) or PhD in life sciences; chemistry preferred A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical or CRO/CMO industry experience preferably in API process R&D and manufacturing and/or Drug Product R&D and manufacturing.
