The Senior Manager, Client Development ("CDM") is responsible for the development and implementation of business development goals and strategies for the assigned practice group. The Senior Manager serves as a strategic advisor to practice leadership, applying deep firm, industry, and market knowledge to drive growth priorities and execute complex business development initiatives with a high degree of independence. The Client Development team works collaboratively to execute cross-sector, cross-practice group projects and initiatives; each CDM is expected to participate in these activities. Responsibilities and Duties: Dedicated practice group (PG): * Is a student of the PG; demonstrates advanced understanding of and can articulate the PG's business (clients, services and solutions, differentiators, and value proposition), keeps current on market and industry trends, and connects those trends to actionable growth opportunities for the Firm. * Works closely with the Practice Group Leader(s) (PGL(s)) and other partners within the PG to do strategic planning, identify PG growth priorities, including priority clients, and develop a PG growth plan. * Executes the PG growth plan, coordinating across subgroups, practice groups, sectors, and geographies to achieve mutually beneficial growth ambitions. * Applies advanced business and industry knowledge to identify, shape, and advance tailored business development opportunities aligned with firm and practice priorities. * Directs and supervises the work of a Manager and Coordinator/Specialist aligned to the PG. * Serves as a strategic resource to Practice Group Leaders, partners, Client Relationship Partners (CRPs), and Client Development colleagues supporting shared or adjacent clients. * Collaborates with other Client Development (CD) teams (e.g., Client Programs; Digital Marketing; PR, Comms and Brand) to optimize GTM initiatives. * Independently scopes and guides complex research requests in collaboration with the Research team, translating insights into actionable recommendations that support strategic planning, pitches, and thought leadership initiatives. * Oversees the development of pitches / pursuits and other marketing collateral relevant to the PG (e.g., grab-and-go pitch content, thought leadership, brochures, Web content), including drafting and editing content. * Leads the annual directory submission process for the PG. * Ensures effective management of PG CD infrastructure (e.g., PGL sub-team/working group meetings, scoping market intelligence research, maintaining PG client contact lists). * Develops and manages the CD segments of the annual US PG budget in partnership with the Practice Director. Tracks and evaluates ROI on major CD expenses.     The Legal Practice Assistant is responsible to the individual attorney(s) and/or paralegal(s) to whom assigned for specific, day-to-day responsibilities and duties and to the Human Resources Manager for Firm policies and procedures, Practice Group assistance, overflow work, and overtime work.

    The Legal Practice Assistant should have previous work experience including basic secretarial skills, word processing, general office procedures and filing techniques, along with the ability to concentrate on details, organize work, and work with a wide spectrum of individuals. The Legal Practice Assistant must be able to handle diverse practices, be a team player, and be a liaison between the client and the attorney.     Responsibilities and Duties:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    A Bachelor's degree is preferred from an accredited college or university.Five to seven years of experience working in a law firm, legal department within a similarly sized, multi-office professional services organization. Litigation experience is required. Experience in tax controversy work is highly preferred.Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads. Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. Experience with Aderant and ChromeRiver software programs, is highly preferred.

Under the guidance of the Director of Pricing and Value, the Specialist will work independently and in an organized fashion in a data-driven environment providing information on legal pricing (and other financial metrics), legal project management and data analytics, while prioritizing the required workload in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities and Duties: * Engages in analysis and strategic planning to facilitate the pricing, client service and client retention process. Makes recommendations, develops pricing structures and communication plans, monitors active Clients and budgets and reports on results. * Supports Partners, Business Development Managers, and RFP team in the US and international teams with developing innovative solutions to meet specific firm and client objectives, providing analysis, strategy, advice, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and presentations for RFP responses. * Assists in the development of a legal project management process and assists in pricing matters using knowledge of legal project management. * Assists with scoping and budgeting of matters, monitoring of matters, after-action review and advice. Develops and provides client and matter monitoring and other reporting. * Analyzes current Client data (or prospective client intelligence) to identify opportunities to enhance value for the Client (or prospective client) and the Firm. Demonstrate a high level of client service and do what is needed to ensure our clients receive the best level of service and prioritize their needs. * Prepares a variety of productivity reports monthly and/or as needed for the Director of Pricing and Value, Firm management, Business Development Managers and Partners. * Participates in the management, maintenance and development of Iridium and any successive productivity, matter planning and profitability software. Conducts training of Partners and staff on the use of Iridium and provides follow-up user support. * Takes initiative to develop custom reporting solutions to address unique needs of Partners, Clients, and other Firm staff. * Utilizes Client, industry and peer survey data to make recommendations and engage in the Firm's annual rate setting project. * Reviews Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) to identify terms that require further review or edits, reviews other information and terms of note for tracking and makes sure all information is kept up to date in a database. * Participates in special projects and initiatives as defined by the Director of Pricing and Value, Executive Director and others. Identifies and suggests improvements to existing processes. Implements the approved changes. * Performs other duties, as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * A Bachelor's degree is required in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing or Business related fields from an accredited college or university. Master's degree is preferred. * 2+ years of experience in legal pricing or legal project management or 5+ years of experience in a business role. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required- Vlookup, pivot tables, charts/graphs, what/if statements, and other formulas. SQL, SSRS, PowerBI or other BI software knowledge is a big plus. * Strong organizational, communication, time management and client service skills are required. * Exceptional planning and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results. * Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. * Strong planning and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, prioritize work, maintain deadlines and produce high quality work. * Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, are essential. This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. The salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $90,000 - $125,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors.
