The BHT’s primary responsibility is to provide support and care for children and adults living in hospitals, facilities or group homes and to maintain a safe environment. BHT’s assist the clients by directing interactions, including but not limited to behavioral management, and by facilitating therapeutic recreational and social life skills. Additional Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Participate in team meetings and trainings.Assist with client admission and discharge as needed.Follow an assigned schedule for daily activities.Oversee clients’ completion of daily living tasks.Follow and adhere to house or facility rules, norms, expectations and schedules to provide consistency.Complete daily progress notes and documentation.Safely and appropriately utilize safe physical management techniques if necessary.Maintain all DCS licensing standards.
