    LSF is seeking a talented Infant Toddler Specialist who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

    The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm

    Purpose and Impact:

    The Infant Toddler Specialist performs duties planning and implementing educational activities for infants and toddlers in the Early Head Start Program that comply with federal performance standards. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.

    Essential Functions: Plans, develops and implements daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers that meet federal performance standards. Plans and arranges classrooms into distinctive learning areas that promote an effective learning environment. Screens and assesses infant and toddler aged children to determine developmental/educational needs and develops and implements individual education plans that comply with federal performance standards. Monitors meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities for toddlers, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for infants and toddlers. Documents children's progress or lack thereof and completes all required manual and computerized forms and reports in accordance with federal requirements. Initiates referrals to the appropriate Head Start Teacher by submission of required paperwork. Uses active supervision techniques and maintains positive classroom behavior. Develop positive caregiver relationships with children. Receives a satisfactory or higher score on the Infant/Toddler Specialist Success Rubric. Maintain a comprehensive and on-going portfolio assessment for each child including weekly observations in each area, example of the child's work, and a developmental assessment. Ensures that at least 80% of the children are ready for preschool. Plans classroom activities for parent and community volunteers. Attends and participates in workshops and other meetings to acquire and disseminate information. Communicates with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, telephone and home visits to apprise them of child's progress, upcoming events, classroom activities, individual education plan changes, and other relevant information. Conducts health checks on children for health concerns, including ringworm, head lice or other health conditions, and reports to appropriate nurse. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect to designated state agency. Plans, coordinates and oversees field trips for assigned children. Requests supplies and equipment to be ordered for use by children in the classroom. Inspects classrooms and grounds to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities. Discusses plans and coordinates concerns regarding the child and family with other Early Head Start staff. Performs First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed. Attends Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) training yearly. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to Head Start/Early Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. Attends all workshops and meetings as deemed necessary by the supervisor. Attends all required staff and parent meetings and activities. Performs other related duties as required. Other Functions:

    Education:

    Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement; if preschool CDA, must have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. OR Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC) birth to five years old OR Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) OR an associate or bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education as well as training or coursework with a focus on infant and toddler development OR an associate or bachelor's degree in related field as well as training or coursework with a focus on infant and toddler development.

    Experience:

    Two years' experience working with Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten aged children.

    Also required: Proof of successful completion of the 45 hours of the Florida Child Care Facility Training and a Certificate of Completion of an approved 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Infant/Toddlers Course within 12 months of hire date, Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training within 30 days of hire date, and certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the date of hire and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check, health, TB and drug screening prior to hiring.

    Timeline of completion of the 45 hours is dependent on the candidate's date of entering childcare industry; must enroll within 90 days to take coursework and complete within 12 months to not exceed 15 months.

    Purpose & Impact:

    The employee in this position is expected to have knowledge of Florida Child Welfare Statutes, administrative code and operating procedures as well as any additional policy provided by the local Lead Agency. Department of Children and Families Regional Quality Assurance staff or Department memo is necessary for the proper performance of this position. The Supervisor is required to demonstrate advanced skills in communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, and is expected to meet regularly with each worker under supervision to monitor and mentor performance. Primary focus is to assist Dependency Case Managers in the provision of services to families to assist with the retention of case managers.

    Essential Functions: Supports the case management team to ensure permanency, safety and well being of all children. Assists with daily tasks to ensure contractual requirements are met for all performance measures. Monitors and directs the day-to-day work of Case Management Support Specialist Team. Monitoring must include tracking of medication 5339's, referrals, transportation records, obtaining provider records and all performance contract measures. Reviews and assists with complex cases, provides guidance and support. Develops daily plans for high risk youth to assist with stabilization. Identifies performance needs of staff and develops and implements plans for performance improvement. Provides guidance to staff by coaching, motivating, training and providing staff development activities. Identifies and promotes outstanding performance. Utilizes software for creation of reports for various tracking needs, to include scheduling of appointments and other child well-being initiatives. Assist in completing outstanding issues on the Data Discrepancy report and maintaining FSFN education and medical tabs as requested. Assist in sending client service referrals, gathering documents for packets, Child Resource Record packets, drug screen requests, birth certificate, social security card request and any other administrative request Organize, prioritize and complete all work assignments by the established deadlines. Attends program Supervisor meetings as scheduled and shares information gathered with unit workers.     Purpose & Impact:

    The purpose of the Mentor Coach provides on-site coaching for Head Start teachers and Teacher Assistants. Conducts classroom observations, demonstration lessons, provides feedback, discusses analysis of child outcomes data and provides coaching/mentoring for teachers to improve teacher-child interactions and child outcomes towards school readiness. Assists and/or develops and updates classroom programs and procedures for the instructional outcomes, curriculum implementation, child assessment and cultural and linguistic responsiveness. Provides technical assistance to identified teaching staff and Center Directors. Responsible for analyzing data from the CLASS observation tool and support staff professional development through staff trainings designed to improve the use of evidence-based teaching practices.     Essential Functions:

    Monitors and documents provisions and progressions in the area of Early Childhood Education and School Readiness. Provides initial and ongoing training and technical assistance to identified Head Start staff regarding program philosophy, policies, procedures, curriculum and other topics as requested or assigned to ensure the uniform delivery of quality services. In collaboration with the Education Childhood Education Supervisor and field staff, assists in the developing and evaluating program goals and objectives. Monitors the implementation of a developmentally and linguistically appropriate approach to child development and education. Maintains reliability in the CLASS assessment Tool. Designs classroom assessment plans for ongoing program improvement. Designs and implements staff trainings to address continuous improvement in child readiness outcomes based on data collected from classrooms, current research and to ensure comprehensive programming. Provides input and recommendations on staff performance to Center Directors, Early Childhood Education Manager and other management staff for performance appraisal and corrective action purposes. Facilitates and coordinates meetings and trainings as assigned or in coordination with the Early Childhood Education Supervisor and ECE Supervisor/VPK. Interprets and applies written program policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Completes monthly monitoring reports for assigned sites and submits them as prescribed.     Qualifications

    Education:

    Baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in Early Childhood Education, a Social or Behavioral Science or Education, which included at least 18 semester hours in Early Childhood Education; and

    A Certificate of Completion of an approved 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Pre-Schoolers or Infant/Toddlers Course; and

    A Certificate of Completion of a 30-hour Introductory Child Care Training Course or
    certificates of completion totaling 30 hours, which includes the following courses: 6 hours Child Growth and Development; 6 hours Behavioral Observation & Screening; 8 hours Health, Safety & Nutrition; 4 hours Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect; and 6 hours Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations; and

    A Certificate of Completion of an approved 10-hour Special Needs Course; and a State of Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential or eligible to obtain credential; and Possession of a valid Florida Driver License. Must be 21 years of age.

    Experience:

    Two years of experience in teaching pre-school or kindergarten age plus two years of supervisory experience required. Some experience in financial management and budgeting preferred. Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.

    Purpose and Impact:

    ECE Supervisor promotes the school readiness of Head Start children by providing technical assistance, mentoring, and training to the staff and agency. Responsible for education and early childhood development services including program options and staffing. Provides culturally responsive, integrated service delivery of child development, disabilities, and mental health that supports learning environments to: enhance children's cognitive, social, and emotional development and promote children's growth in language, literacy, mathematics, science, social and emotional development, creative arts, physical development, and approaches to learning.

    Essential Functions: Facilitates peer-to-peer learning both one-on-one or group settings in joint process of capacity-building strategies. Provides skill development and mentoring to staff progressing in their position by performing on-the-job technical assistance and mentoring of specific skills. Provide guidance to staff in building skills and competence. Facilitating the development, implementation, and coordination of internal support plans (action plans, behavior plans) with parents, teachers, and supervisors. Implements and evaluates skills and strategies Provides ongoing quality assistance to address children's challenging behaviors and sensory needs. Supports the professional development of all staff by delivering coaching and technical assistance. Assist with Center Management in the absence of the Center Director and ensures that CLASS, classroom assessments, and all other school readiness requirements are met at each center. Provide support in the implementation and roll-out of LSF policy and procedures and management by objectives and the approval process for early childhood services. Works collaboratively with the VPK/SR Supervisor with the implementation of Head Start and State Pre-Kindergarten school readiness. Provide support in instances in which vacancies exist among early childhood management and classroom staff. Provide direct support in the aggregation of school readiness data and required assessments for all LSF Head Start and Early Head Start children. Supervises Center Directors and ensures adequate staffing at all center locations. Provides CLASS evaluations and the aggregation of children assessments. Takes appropriate corrective action as needed. Participates in site visits, classrooms observations, and work groups to assess program needs and planning strategies for system/process improvement and/or development of early childhood education, disabilities, and mental health. Assesses the implementation of the agency's work plan to insure the program/content goals and objectives are met. Provides guidance and support to staff with implementation of curriculum/individualization plans and ongoing assessments. Manages the curriculum implementation county-wide for the Grantee and is responsible for working with the Director of Education and Quality Assurance Manager toward providing required assessments for children and outcomes reporting. Maintains content development expertise and disseminates such knowledge by providing ongoing quality assistance to staff. Develops and disseminates resources and best practices for the process of implementing quality improvement efforts. Attends all workshops and meetings as deemed necessary by the Director of Education and the Head Start Director. Attends all required staff and parent meetings and activities. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to HS/EHS children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.     Experience:

    Must be 21 years of age. Five years of supervisory experience required as well as early education teaching experience. Some experience in financial management and budgeting preferred. Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred. Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area.

    Also required:

    Preschool CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) Certification within 6 months from the date of hire and maintain certification/reliability renewals annually. Infant/Toddler CLASS Certification within 6 months from the date of hire and maintain certification/reliability renewals annually. Certification in First Aid and CPR within six months of the date assigned to this position; and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check and drug screening prior to hiring.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of HS/EHS performance standards. Knowledge of local customs, cultures, languages and resources helpful. Knowledge of adult learning techniques. Math skills needed to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and overtime. Computer skills to produce and interpret graphs, charts, spreadsheets and other mathematical reports.
