    LSF is looking for a talented Infant Toddler Preschool Teacher who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

    Purpose & Impact:

    The Infant Toddler Preschool Teacher performs duties planning and implementing educational activities for infants and toddlers in the Early Head Start Program that comply with federal performance standards. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.

    Essential Functions: Plans, develops and implements daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers that meet federal performance standards. Plans and arranges classrooms into distinctive learning areas that promote an effective learning environment. Screens and assesses infant and toddler aged children to determine developmental/educational needs and develops and implements individual education plans that comply with federal performance standards Monitors meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities for toddlers, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for infants and toddlers. Documents children's progress or lack thereof and completes all required manual and computerized forms and reports in accordance with federal requirements. Initiates referrals to the appropriate Head Start Teacher by submission of required paperwork. Uses active supervision techniques and maintains positive classroom behavior. Develop positive caregiver relationships with children. Receives a satisfactory or higher score on the Infant/Toddler Specialist Success Rubric. Maintain a comprehensive and on-going portfolio assessment for each child including weekly observations in each area, example of the child's work, and a developmental assessment. Ensures that at least 80% of the children are ready for preschool. Plans classroom activities for parent and community volunteers. Attends and participates in workshops and other meetings to acquire and disseminate information. Communicates with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, telephone and home visits to apprise them of child's progress, upcoming events, classroom activities, individual education plan changes, and other relevant information. Conducts health checks on children for health concerns, including ringworm, head lice or other health conditions, and reports to appropriate nurse. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect to designated state agency. Plans, coordinates and oversees field trips for assigned children. Requests supplies and equipment to be ordered for use by children in the classroom. Inspects classrooms and grounds to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities. Discusses plans and coordinates concerns regarding the child and family with other Early Head Start staff. Performs First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed. Attends Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) training yearly. Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to Head Start/Early Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. Attends all workshops and meetings as deemed necessary by the supervisor. Attends all required staff and parent meetings and activities. Performs other related duties as required. Other Functions:

    Education:

    Experience:

    Also required:

    Proof of successful completion of the 45 hours of the Florida Child Care Facility Training and a Certificate of Completion of an approved 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Infant/Toddlers Course within 12 months of hire date, Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training within 30 days of hire date, and certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the date of hire and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check, health, TB and drug screening prior to hiring.

    Timeline of completion of the 45 hours is dependent on the candidate's date of entering childcare industry; must enroll within 90 days to take coursework and complete within 12 months to not exceed 15 months.

    Purpose and Impact:

    The Childcare Partnership Supervisor will have oversight of record-keeping and monitoring systems and development of community child care partnerships. Works in collaboration with Head Start Director, program consultants/managers and community child care providers to deliver Early Head Start (EHS) services. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and or agency policies and procedures. Participates in the HS/EHS Quality Assurance efforts.

    Essential Functions: Participates in the design of EHS internal structures, systems and policies. Ensures adequate systems in place to maintain highest quality of EHS services to children and families in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Ensures consistency in EHS service delivery with attention to inclusive practices and integration of component areas; encourage continuous improvement of systems. Ensures coordination among service area components, across levels and within the organization. Participates in development of EHS program and Community Child Care interagency agreements and contracts. Prepares annual Program Information Report (PIR) as it relates to EHS. Monitor Child Care Partner (CCP) sites, classrooms and Family Day Care homes ensuring appropriate Infant & Toddler child development equipment, furniture and materials. Maintains inventory list for each child care partner site and family child care home. Monitors children's files to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with local, state, and Federal regulations. Monitors Child Care Partner activites, in collaboration with local program partners, ensuring CCP progress towards goal attainment in accredition, state regulations, certification and Health and Safety. Coordinate with content area staff for parent involvement, social services, health, nutrition,disabilities, and education services for compliance. Responsible for conducting follow up conferences with CCP Directors and Educators immediately following onsite visits. Establishes and maintains relationships and collaborations with public school districts, systems of higher education, and other community agencies and partners. Attends interagency organizational and planning meetings as appropriate. Participates in professional development activities and organized community events for Inkind and community awareness. Participates in the development of collaborations and facility development for future expansion of families and/or services. Assists Head Start Director in development of EHS-CCP program budgets. Participates in weekly Case Management Team meetings. Designs and delivers training in areas of expertise. Monitors formal performance appraisals and professional development training plans for each EHS-CCP. Designs the EHS CCP staff Training and Technical Assistance Plan and works in collaboration with Program leadership staff to incorporate into the larger grant overall T&TA plan. In collaboration with Program leadership, leads the design and ongoing grant application process specific to the EHS service area. Monitors Child Care Partners required license and education credentials for in accordance with LSF Children and Head Start Services policies and procedures. Monitor Child Care Partner required health & TB screenings. Initiate and process for verification of all purchases or expenditures, including but not limited to, consultants, Child Care Provider attendance (training) and purchase orders. Interact with members of the community, other agencies and Policy Council as needed. Makes regular formal presentations to parents, staff, and community groups to provide information and ensure collaboration and promote advocacy.     Education:

    Also required:

    Purpose and Impact:

    The Teacher is responsible for curriculum development which facilitates instruction appropriate for students with a variety of academic competencies, backgrounds, skills, and learning needs. Develop Individualized Educational Plans to report and document student's developmental progress (cognitive, emotional, social and physical). Use effective instructional strategies to meet the academic needs of the students. Provide a vocational course and curriculum in a subject area approved by program director or designee which introduces youth to career choices. Maintain a record of student's academic progress (grade book) for the development of report cards. Meet departmental and program deadlines to ensure contractual compliance with reporting requirements.

    Other Functions:

    Attend all organizational required trainings. Attend trainings that will enhance professional growth in the area of Education and/or Vocational curriculum and instruction with pre-approval from program director or designee. Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to. Assist with the planning and coordination of special educational events. Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences. Willing to travel if needed for trainings, conferences or to transport youth to destination if reunified within the Sponsor. Must maintain any professional or para-professional certifications acquired while employed with LSF annually. Ensure the proper supervision of youth at all times.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree required in the field of Education or related field. Must be a certified Educator in Florida.

    Experience:

    1-2 years of paid or unpaid experience working with youth in a bilingual setting preferred.

    Skills:

    Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Excel) Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

    Essential Functions:

    Detects and envisions potential safety and security hazards to youth in residence, subsequently making recommendations and implementing corrective actions as appropriate or required. As directed, participates in the implementation and monitoring of client case plans. Assists with day-to-day maintenance of the facility in conjunction with the Program Manager. Assists with ensuring 24-hour direct care staff coverage in conjunction with the Program Manager. Screens clients, conducts initial intakes, and administers client satisfaction surveys as directed. Coordinates and assists with youth intakes and orientation during Intake process. Assists in maintaining reports in coordination with the Program Manager. Supervises youth as needed to include preparation of meals and completion of chores. Supervises and schedules maintenance and upkeep of the program vehicles. Performs related work as required and as directed by the Program Manager.

    Other Functions:

    Performs other duties as assigned by the Program/Operations Director and/or the Program Manager.

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to remain physically active throughout the workday, including frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting. Ability to safely and effectively intervene in crisis situations, including physically guiding or restraining youth when necessary and appropriate, following agency policies and training. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to move quickly and respond promptly to emergency situations. Regularly required to talk and hear; must be able to communicate effectively with youth and team members. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and phones, as needed for documentation and communication. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to ensure the safety of youth in care. Must have a high level of energy. Must have full physical capabilities such as lifting, bending, cooking, cleaning, and using the telephone. Ability to transport youth in the program vehicle and accompany youth on field trips/recreational outings.

    Education:

    HS Diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:

    This is an entry level position. Experience working with youth in an organized/structured setting is preferred, at the discretion of Supervisor/Manager.

    Must have good organization, written, and verbal skills. Dependability, discretion, and good judgement are essential. Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, and the general public.
