    Fabrication Quality Control (QC) Manager Location: Long Beach, MS (Relocation Available) Employment Type: Direct Hire Work Environment: 100% Onsite Travel: 0–5% local travel Compensation: $88,000-$120,000 annually (based on experience)+Discretionary bonus About the Opportunity Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Fabrication Quality Control (QC) Manager on behalf of a well-established organization supporting industrial and process piping fabrication operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing quality control and assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across fabrication projects. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in pipe fabrication, welding standards, and quality systems. Key Responsibilities Quality Control Leadership Develop, implement, and maintain QC/QA standards aligned with ISO 9001:2015, ASME, and project specifications Oversee inspections of fabrication processes, equipment, and work environments Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and client requirements Prepare inspection reports and recommend corrective actions Fabrication Quality Oversight Perform and document in-process inspections for piping, plumbing, and sheet metal fabrication Verify fabricated products meet engineering drawings and specifications Maintain quality records and prepare project turnover documentation Welding and NDE Management Certify welders and welding procedures in accordance with applicable codes Maintain welder continuity logs Coordinate and schedule Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) testing Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement Analyze quality metrics, trends, and KPIs Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions Lead initiatives to improve fabrication quality and operational efficiency Estimating and Project Support Review RFQs and support estimating teams with quality requirements Assist with labor forecasting and cost analysis for fabrication projects Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with engineering, estimating, and fabrication teams to resolve quality issues Support fabrication strategy development and process improvements Training and Development Train and mentor QC personnel and fabrication staff Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement Required Qualifications 3+ years of quality control experience in pipe fabrication, industrial/process piping, or mechanical subcontracting Fabrication shop experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Knowledge of pipe fabrication methods, materials, and B31 piping standards Experience supporting estimating or cost analysis for fabrication work Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Quality control leadership or management experience Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification ASNT Level II certification in ASME B31 piping Experience implementing or maintaining ISO 9001 standards Experience with KPI-driven estimating and performance metrics Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Why This Role Stands Out Competitive salary with bonus potential High-impact leadership role within fabrication operations Opportunity to drive quality systems and process improvements Work with a well-established and growth-focused organization Why Work with Wheeler Staffing Partners Wheeler Staffing Partners connects skilled professionals with leading organizations across the United States.
