    Counselors & Advocates (Non-Residential)

    Starting Pay: $16.71/ hour (based on education and experience)
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide advocacy, referral, linkage to services, and ongoing follow-up based on client goals
    • Support child development, family well-being, child abuse prevention, and victim recovery
    • Conduct home visits, help clients navigate services, and maintain documentation

    Peer Support Specialists

    Residential Counselors

    Starting Pay:

      Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct care in 24/7 staffed residential treatment programs
    • Monitor client safety, conduct intakes, facilitate psychoeducational groups
    • Perform safety checks, maintain client belongings, and promote a therapeutic environment
    • Work shift-based schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

    Key Responsibilities:s

    • Serve as the first point of contact for calls to Outpatient Services

    The Jefferson & Sevier Co. School Based Mental Health Liaison

    • The School Based Mental Health Liaison (SBMHL) program provides direct mental health services in the rural county school system.
    • Liaisons will provide individual consultation to teachers and assist them in structuring classrooms to enhance the learning environment for children whose risk of developing an emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse problem is significantly higher than average or children who have minimal but detectable signs or symptoms foreshadowing a disorder.
    • Liaisons will provide training and education to teachers, school staff, and students to promote healthy learning environments.
    • Liaisons will work closely with families and assist in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
    • Liaisons will also provide direct services to identified students.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in mental health service provision and leadership.

    1. Provides all services to insure successful implementation of Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services grant.

    • Conducts individual, family, and group counseling.
    • Provides advocacy, linkage, and referral services as needed.
    • Provides mental health assessments and evaluations.
    • Participates in IEP and other school related meetings.
    • Provides parent, school or school staff training.
    • Interfaces professionally with school personnel and other agencies
    • Conducts group sessions with children and/or parents.
    • Interfaces professionally with school personnel and provides therapeutic support.

    2. Maintain HRMC and CARF documentation standards

    • Maintains appropriate chart records that reflect both HRMC and CARF standards.
    • Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
    • Upholds center policy and procedures, and CARF standards.
    • Maintains adequate record keeping ensuring all grant reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.

    3. Meet all productivity standards

    • Maintain active caseload of individual therapy clients.
    • Completes assessments within two weeks once all paperwork is completed for school-based services.

    4. Demonstrate and maintain a positive work climate and overall team effort.

    • Demonstrate consideration and concern for fellow co-workers and their job responsibilities.

    COMPENSATION:

    QUALIFICATIONS - Jefferson & Sevier Co. School Based Mental Health Liaison

    Education:

    • Must have a Master's Degree in a human services field such as counselor or social work.

    Experience / Knowledge:

    • Must have a Master's Degree in a human services field such as counselor or social work. Must have two (2) years' experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems, or two (2) years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention, or a combination of the two.
    • Applicants should have experience leading groups and trainings.
    • In addition, applicants should have course work in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, trauma, suicide and learning disorders.
    • This person will either possess experience or training in the Re-Education Philosophy or will acquire such training in the course of employment.
    • Licensed or licensed eligible.
    • Ability to effectively and ethically counsel children and families.

    Job Standards

    • Assist with monthly safety inspections for buildings, opens tickets for all safety issues.
    • Monitors and reports any facility items needing addressed, ceiling tiles replaced, lights out, trip hazards, or pest issues.
    • Ensures all annual inspections for the buildings have been completed in a timely manner.
    • Knowledge of all CARF and Licensure requirements for facilities.
    • Minor construction, demolition, and repair of walls when needed.
    • Knowledge of vehicle policies and safety requirements.
    • Assists with oil changes for facilities with center vehicles.
    • Assist with fire drills.
    • Participates with on call as needed.
    • Ensures all monthly PM's are completed timely.

    • Ensure that all HRMC Emergency calls are responded to.

    • Required to answer work phone or respond back within 30 minutes.
    • Ensure that vehicle assigned to technician is maintained.
    • Required to maintain a clean and organized vehicle. The technician is responsible for any and all traffic violations while operating a HRMC vehicle.
    • Observe all safety practices from wearing PPE to being aware of you and your team's safety.
    • Conduct all work in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Leave all work areas clean of tools and debris, to ensure the safety of all clients and staff.

    COMPENSATION:

    • Starting salary for this position is approximately $18.98/hr based on relevant experience and education.

    Schedule:

      Summary of position:
      • The position will be responsible for the individual educational needs of the clients at Katie Miller & Gateway Academy including the special needs of students identified with Special Education certification and students with 504 plans.
      • The Teacher will develop lesson plans, delegate tasks to the assistants, report progress to the Program Coordinator.
      • This position will participate in treatment planning for the residents and utilize the behavioral system employed.
      • This position will meet or exceed the expectations of DCS/Dept. of Education requirements to maintain school certification.
      • The position will act as the Educational Liaison which requires the completion of education reports as well as communication with the liaison persons in the schools of the community as directed by the Interdepartmental Agreement between the Department of Children's Services and the Department of Education.

      JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. Provide Educational needs of clients.

      a. Develop curriculum
      • Provide 6.5 hrs of approved DOE curriculum each school day, including daily assignments for each student to gain grades and credits towards graduation.
      • Grading and recording grades/providing students, therapist, parents, caseworkers progress reports and grade reports as stipulated by the Dept. of Education: 1 every 4-5 wks, every 9 wks, semester/18 wks.
      • Completing transcripts documenting credits towards graduation within 2 weeks of course completion.
      • Provide study guides towards GED.
      • Transport clients to GED practice test and GED tests if necessary.
      • Provide Special Education services for identified clients and complete an initial IEP within the first 30 days and review/evaluate the IEP every 45 days thereafter. (Special Education Certification)
      b. Classroom management
      • Provide structure in the classroom that is conducive to learning.
      • Monitor clients need for individual modifications and provide those modifications as evidenced by completion of initial testing within 7 days of admission, adherence to IEPs and 504 plans and written evaluation of progress every 4-5 weeks.
      2. Meet DCS/DOE regulations for maintaining school certification and funding.

      a. Meet all DCS/DOE expectations.
      • Assist in completing all school approval forms on a timely basis, meeting the deadlines of mid-October for the compliance, school calendar and teacher report form and June 1 for the summer agenda.
      • Attend meetings and communicate with DCS/DOE personnel for consultation and monitoring.
      • Supervise and coordinate Wellness and Living skills as part of each school day.
      • Maintain all school records according to documentation standards and retain for 7 years (3 on site) as evidenced by annual audits.
      3. Meet Title I/TACC regulations to maintain annual funding.

      a. Oversee/manage/assist the utilization of Title I funding.
      • Complete the CPSR Student Data Sheet for every client at intake and then update at discharge.
      • Assist with communicating if any inventory has been damaged with the Services Coordinator and/or Program Coordinator in order to ensure that inventory is kept current.
      b. Complete and maintain all required documentation according to Title I standards.
      • Assist in completing Title I reports according to prescribed deadlines.
      • Participate in appropriate use of all Title I funds and make recommendations for future use of such funds.
      4. Organize and orchestrate school activities to mesh with treatment services.

      a. Provide reports of academic and behavioral progress.
      • Provide academic and behavioral reports to treatment team/caseworkers/parents/guardians as evidenced by the completion of the weekly feedback form.
      • Provide feedback to supervisor on a weekly basis as evidenced by clear communication of educational needs/issues and problem solving.
      b. Design class to support treatment services.
      • Create rules in the classroom are consistent with program rules as evidenced by utilization of Re-Ed and documentation on each client's daily note.
      • Assist with supervision while transitioning from one aspect of the program to another.
      5. Supervise teacher/ teaching staff.

      a. Provide appropriate guidance to staff.
      • Provide training during all-staff meetings, upon request
      • Assist program counselors in the classroom enforce program rules.
      6. Become a liaison between school systems to assist with community integration.
      • In writing, notify school that the client has withdrawn from their school, within 3 days of admission.
      • Request school records within 3 days (72 hours) of receipt of the ROI.
      • Send grades, transcripts, educational passport and records with client and/or case manager upon discharge from the program, so the client can be re-enrolled in school more efficiently.
      • If aware of the school the client is transitioning to and if necessary, fax appropriate documentation to the school, which includes any school records.
      7. Professionalism

      a. Professional communication.
      • Provide professional written communication to all parties involved in client's treatment as evidenced by the parent's letter, parent's rights, education survey and DOE's advocacy and regulations.
      • Provide calm, clear and professional verbal communication with clients, staff, visitors, caseworkers, parents and all others.
      • Document communication during meetings and phone conversations via phone contact note or IEP form.
      8. Staff/Professional Development.

      a. Attend all required trainings.
      • Maintain licensure by attending five days of in-service training per year.
      • Attend/Complete all agency trainings and meetings required.
      • Research and attend one other training annually that will increase knowledge and improve ability to do job.
      COMPENSATION:

      Starting salary for this position is approximately $51,615-$59,582/yr based on relevant experience and education.

      Schedule:
      • The Special Education position will be an in-person daily attendance position.
      Travel:
      • Must be able to transport clients in a personal vehicle or Center vehicle.
      Equipment/Technology:
      • Basic computer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

        JOB SUMMARY

        • The purpose of the Reimbursement Insurance Verification Specialist is to obtain and verify a client's commercial insurance coverage and to ensure procedures are covered by an individual's insurance.
        • Specialist will be responsible for entering data in an accurate manner and updating client benefit information in the organization's billing system and verifying that existing information is accurate.
        • The Specialist will perform a variety of auditing and resolution-centered activities, answering pertinent questions about coverage to internal and external sources, identifying insurance errors, and recommending solutions.
        • Will be required to work regular office hours at the designated facility.

        JOB DESCRIPTION

        • Employees in this job complete and oversee a variety of professional assignments to evaluate, review, enter, monitor, and update client insurance and billing information.

        JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

        • NOTE: The job duties listed are typical duties of the work performed. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned to every duty.
        • Reviews the center's Commercial Notification Forms and returns an Insurance Verification Forms to the requesting staff within designated program timeframe.
        • Verifies insurance information is up to date for the next day's client roster and updates any applicable pop-ups in the system
        • For new clients, gives contact information, obtain client photo, updates the EMR with correct information and ensures the appropriate intake packet paperwork has been signed and verified to ensure clients understanding of policies.
        • Prepares and updates the designated facility facesheets with insurance issues, patient responsibilities, outstanding balances, and any non-payment status changes for the next day and places them in HIPAA compliant blue folders for the appropriate providers.
        • Analyzes designated eligibility reports on a daily basis.
        • Communicates with and advises Insurance Verification Team Leader of all problems related to insurance verification.
        • Advises other departments of updated or new insurance information as needed.
        • Adheres to all policies and procedures related to compliance with all federal and state billing regulations.
        • Communicates with billing representatives regarding any insurance issues that may arise.
        • Review and update the Non-Payment status documents for both Med appointments and Therapy appointments
        • Maintains a positive and professional attitude.
        • Reads all emails and responds accordingly in a timely manner.
        • Listens to all voicemails and responds accordingly in a timely manner.
        • Works with members of various teams and/or departments on identifying process improvements.

        • Collects all client responsibility balances via cash, check, money order or credit card and issues receipts for payments.
        • Assists in determining proper courses of action for successful resolution to insurance issues.
        • Completes all program related paperwork required for reporting purposes.
        • Possesses problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
        • Reviews patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtains any missing information.
        • Sets up patient payment plans and works collection accounts.
        • Submits monthly recommendations to supervisor for write-offs with complete documentation by first of the following month all while following the A/R Reference Guide on how to complete write offs.

        JOB QUALIFICATIONS

        • Advanced use of computer system software, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft (word processing and spreadsheet application).
        • Knowledge of insurance guidelines for all Commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, TennCare, Federal Medicaid and Private Pay financial classes.

        • Successful completion of twenty-four (24) training days is required for new RIP staff before commencement of the local RIP Program operation, sixteen (16) days at the RIP-Nashville facility, and the remainder on-site under the direction of the RIP-TA.
        • Training times and requirements should be discussed with the state technical assistance staff at the RIP Nashville facility.
        • Limited waivers to allow current Coordinator to do some on-site training of staff may be granted by the RIP TA.
        • Documentation of on-site training must be provided to the RIP TA.
