Job Summary
Lead Behavioral Health Clinician works in coordination with interdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidence based clinical services in the Journey House. Clinical services include individual, group and family therapy.Maintains ethical principles and professional standards of practice in adherence to the discipline’s professional code of ethics. Assumes leadership responsibilities as assigned by clinical leadership.May assume clinical oversight of daily operations in the absence of Program Manager.
Key responsibilities of Lead Behavioral Health Clinician:
Conducts a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and establishes a care plan, as appropriate.Provides direct patient care that may include case management, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration for care transition needs, crisis intervention/safety planning, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families coping with illness, trauma, or end -of-life care, referral and discharge planning.Refers patient to appropriate levels of care and available resources that promote the individualized care plan.Assists in the coordination of programming which may include staff scheduling, scheduling clinical activities, program development, utilization review, case load assignment, and attending meetings as directed by manager.May assist in the hiring process for new staff, supporting expansion of initiatives, supporting clinician productivity, leading team meetings, conducting staff education and training.Independently able to provide clinical social work interventions to all patient populations.Provide social work field supervision to second year social work students.***Lead Behavioral Health Clinicians are eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $2,500.00, in accordance with program guidelines***

Natchaug Hospital's Northeast Treatment Center in Danielson, CT is conveniently located to both northwestern Rhode Island and south central Massachusetts. Natchaug's Joshua Center Programs treat children as young as six and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the student’s home.

Program Summary
Natchaug Hospital's Journey House program is a specialized residential treatment facility on the Mansfield campus for adolescent girls with identified needs for behavioral health services who admitted through a referral from the juvenile justice system. Journey House offers a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities that are carried out in individual, group and family settings. Residents and the treatment team collaborate on discharge planning, which includes coordination of individual and family therapy, medication management, identification of a primary care physician and any vocational, recreational or educational planning.
Job Summary
Manager of Behavioral Health is responsible for clinical and administrative and staffing oversight and strategic planning operations and initiatives for each program and cost center under their direction. Is accountable for the delivery of efficient, quality service and care consistent with each program’s specific goals and objectives. Maintains ethical principles and professional standards of practice in adherence to the discipline’s professional code of ethics. May provide direct care as needed.
Key areas of responsibility for the Manager of Behavioral Health:
Analyzes Program needs and develops meaningful goals and objectives that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Prioritizes, eliminates impediments, and resolves problems to ensure care, treatment and services are fluid, evidence based and client centered. Establishes performance measures/expectations, identifies and recommends improvement opportunities.Proactively analyzes departmental processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement; develops and implements improvement initiatives.Ensures programs of oversight meet standards set by governing bodies, including Dept of Mental Health & Addiction Services (DMHAS), Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB), Dept Children & Families (DCF), Dept Public Health (DPH), and Joint Commission.Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, conflict management, scheduling, recruitment, and colleague engagement.Distributes work and delegates to develop colleagues; monitors progress and creates a motivating and inclusive environment. Coaches, provides frequent feedback, and evaluates work performance.Maintains professional competence and knowledge. In the Adult Partial Hospitalization Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Treatmentprograms, we focus on creating a therapeutic environment where people can learn strategies for coping and improve their functioning. Each client’s treatment plan is centered on group therapy which allows for sharing of experiences while gaining support and validation. When people need intensive, comprehensive treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency issues but do not need inpatient or residential hospital care, Natchaug offers intensive, structured clinical treatment in programs that may include up to six hours of treatment a day, five days a week. These intensive treatment programs can help prevent the need for hospitalization. They can also help people make the transition to home after inpatient or residential treatment. Natchaug brings this clinical care closer to people’s homes by offering programs throughout Eastern Connecticut.
