  • Our client is one of Denver's largest and most sophisticated single family offices. Due to succession planning a new opportunity exists within the organization.
    The platform has investments in a wide ranging and diverse portfolio and is looking for an investment professional to handle everything from the day-to-day reporting to the deal-by-deal analytics of these alternative investments. This position will be able to analyze new deals as they are presented, as well as support the daily accounting and tracking of the entire portfolio of alternative investments.

    The CompanyThe firm is a lean operation, with ~10 people in total, mostly comprised of investment and operations professionals. They manage ~$300M in AUM and are actively raising a new pool of capital.
    The RoleThe VP of Finance & Accounting will be a stand alone professional supporting the broader company across three major buckets of responsibilities:
    Corporate AccountingPrepare and track execution of annual business plans for all entitiesAssess and enhance, as needed, current system for financial transactions by improving chart of accounts, and defining policies and proceduresPrepare monthly financial statements and reporting packagesEtc.
    Fund AccountingWork with the third-party fund administrator to oversee the preparation, review, and accuracy of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, for multiple investment funds and management companies
    Finance OperationsAll aspects of Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting functionsFinancial and performance reporting to executive leadership and senior management, and third parties. Specifically, this person will perform corporate level budget to actual variance analysis and work with the leadership team to establish the platform level reporting package

    QualificationsAt least 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting and/or financial leadership role with strong preference for 2 to 3 years in public accountingPrivate equity experience is preferredFull knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-starter, resourceful and ambitiousFocus on execution, results oriented and meet commitments/deadlinesEmployee is willing to wear multiple hats and contribute in other areasDetailed oriented with strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated advanced Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel skillsMinimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CFA preferred
