Job Description Position Purpose: Consistently leads an assigned team to inspect, maintain, repair and install mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: * In conjunction with supervisor, or in his/her absence, reviews daily team requirements. Oversees work assignments to ensure that schedules are met.     Position Purpose: 

    Leads and directs the integrated facility maintenance and repair for the Nassau County Sewer System (South Shore STP, Cedar Creek WPCP, Glen Cove WPCP, 57 Sewer Lift Stations). Manage complex maintenance budget. Ensures the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of services including preventive and predictive maintenance; planned system overhauls; renewal, replacement, and on-demand corrective repair services. Updates and maintains project Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Develop risk and asset management technics to extend equipment life. Facilitates the design and implementation of equipment repair and replacement solutions using the services of technical company personnel, outside consultants, and contractors. Promotes a safe work environment.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

    Administers service contracts to assure compliance with job specifications and adherence to unit cost agreements.Directs performance of in-house workforce and is responsible for performance management and ensuring adherence to Company and industry standards and compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines.Oversees staff training and recruitment to ensure that the workforce is capable of operating and maintaining state-of-the-art wastewater treatment process and building support systems.Develops annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction to the department.Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPI) for the departments and explain any variances to those KPI’s.Manage and develop department financial forecast information.Directs the implementation of department safety training programs and assures workforce compliance with OSHA/NY OSHA job safety requirements.Directs a comprehensive system-wide facilities preventative and predictive maintenance program.Develops and implements policies and procedures that support the pursuit of department strategic goals and objectives and are consistent with overall policies ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the unit.Ensure development and implementation of comprehensive overhaul programs for key treatment process equipment to minimize downtime and optimize potential for completion of maintenance activities during unplanned outages.Ensures that the CMMS functions effectively and provides work order processing, planning and scheduling, spare parts / inventory management, monitoring and reporting for key performance indicators such as mean time between failure, equipment availability, workforce utilization, cost, turnaround time, backlog level and aging to support the predictive, preventative and on-demand repair programs.Conducts maintainability review of new construction design documents to assure compliance with published standards and to ensure reasonable repair and overall access to building and mechanical systems.Continuously surveys and assesses on-demand facility repair services; identifies shortcomings in responsiveness, quality of repairs and customer communications; takes prompt, positive action to maintain high levels of customer service.Facilitates analysis of trends in large-scale maintenance and renewal programs; translates negative trends to annual renewal and capital proposals.Manages personnel to operate all Sewer Lift Stations throughout the Sewer System.Participates in the “Emergency On Call” rotation.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Position requires off hours availability to address emergencies and other critical responses.

    Work Environment:

    The work environment is typically in an office environment but requires periodic inspection of the treatment facilities where the employee will also be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and an industrial plant environment which involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The work environment also involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    Job Description

    Position Purpose:

    Performs a variety of semi-skilled, skilled, technical, and administrative work in the planning, scheduling, maintenance of vehicles and equipment within Fleet Services.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    Diagnoses and locates mechanical problems on fleet vehicles and equipment.Repairs brakes, engines, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems using a variety of hand, electric, air-driven tools, and diagnostic instruments.Performs cutting and welding in performance of body repair, touch up and related work.Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on vehicles and related equipment. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.Inspects vehicles and equipment for compliance with applicable policies, rules and regulations for road-worthiness and safety. Takes corrective action per procedure in assigned area. Investigates vehicle / equipment damage, completes forms, participates and completes remedial actions to prevent further occurrences within assigned deadlines.Performs all duties in compliance with Veolia Water safety policies and guidelines and makes others aware of potential hazards in the work area. Practices good housekeeping.     Job Description

    Position Purpose:

    Performs a variety of semi-skilled, skilled, technical, and administrative work in the planning, scheduling, maintenance of vehicles and equipment within Fleet Services.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    Diagnoses and locates mechanical problems on fleet vehicles and equipment.Repairs brakes, engines, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems using a variety of hand, electric, air-driven tools, and diagnostic instruments.Performs cutting and welding in performance of body repair, touch up and related work.Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on vehicles and related equipment. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.Inspects vehicles and equipment for compliance with applicable policies, rules and regulations for road-worthiness and safety. Takes corrective action per procedure in assigned area. Investigates vehicle / equipment damage, completes forms, participates and completes remedial actions to prevent further occurrences within assigned deadlines.Performs all duties in compliance with Veolia Water safety policies and guidelines and makes others aware of potential hazards in the work area. Practices good housekeeping. Participates in cleaning of work areas machinery, tools and equipment in Fleet Services areas.Frequent contact with internal personnel in order to understand maintenance needs.Contact with vehicle and equipment suppliers to obtain repair and maintenance instructions.

    SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES (INTERMITTENT, ON AN OCCASIONAL BASIS, ETC.)

    May assist with maintaining parts, spares and maintenance inventory.Participates in coverage for after hour’s emergency calls for Fleet Services as assigned by Lead Mechanic.Participates in snow and ice control program with the Public Works Department as needed on an emergency basis.Performs other duties as assigned.May assist with orienting or training new or less experienced personnel.

    Work Environment:

    Spends 100% of time in shop or field environment.Typically spends 25 – 35% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather.Company service vehicles are used as required.Travels 1 – 2 times per year for company provided training.Possible Work Hazards: May be exposed to possible operations hazards including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, moving mechanical parts and vehicles, heavy machinery, high pressure and hot and cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    High school or GED with the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.Specialized training in vehicle and equipment maintenance with knowledge and experience in the areas of automotive and truck mechanics, gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, valves, generators and welding and body repair.Entry level but some experience preferred in vehicle and equipment maintenance, Fleet Management or a related field. Experience in and exposure to repair and maintenance of the following: pickup trucks, one, two, five and ten-ton dump truck, snow plow, salt spreader and trailer equipped trucks preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.Must demonstrate ability to accurately record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.Must have ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and construction-type equipment, drill press, bench press, grinder, band saw, electric charging systems testers, digital and computerized diagnostic instruments, hydraulic jacks and lifts, air tools, wrenches, drivers, wheel and tire replacement systems, air compressor, lubricants, greases, coolants and related fluid, cleaning equipment, portable radios, telephones, computers, copiers, printers and other equipment and devices related to Fleet Services activities.Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.Must have ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System (software).Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.Must provide own hand tools used in the normal performance of the job and includes, but not limited to; wrenches, socket sets, drivers, hammers, chisels, storage cabinets and tool boxes. Replacement of hand tools due to damage or breakage in the normal performance of the job will be reimbursed after approval by the Plant Manager.Must be able to participate in after hours emergency call-outs.

    Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

    Must possess a valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with tanker endorsement and a safe driving record.Employee Orientation, Departmental Operating Procedures, OSHA and Quality Training. Veolia equipment training.Contributes and participates in required and recommended safety programs and training sessions.Obtain and continue ASE certification in Master Automotive Technician or Master Medium / Heavy Duty Truck Technician within three years from date of hire.HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Level I and II First Responder Certification. Work toward higher level water / wastewater treatment certification.Forklift Certification if required by site.

    Physical Requirements:

    Amount of time spent – Standing 75%, Walking 25%.Requires close visual and hearing observation to detect non-conformance and equipment malfunction.Constantly uses hands to finger, handle or feel and frequently reaches with hands and arms.Works in various positions; works on ladders, and works with hands extended above and below head and body up to 40 minutes using hand and power tools weighing up to 15 pounds.Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds (occasionally 60 pounds) distances of 10 feet.Occasional stooping, bending or kneeling and entering confined spaces.

    The Maintenance Manager will develop work plans and manage maintenance projects/records as well as spend time out in the areas of plant operations to study systems and equipment and develop work plans. The Maintenance Manager will direct the plant maintenance personnel and participate directly in maintenance work execution work plans.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
