Overview East West Bank is currently seeking a Relationship Manager for our Fund Finance business in the Eastern U.S. This individual will work with the Managing Director and other relationship team members in sourcing new business, structuring and underwriting loans, and managing relationships with a variety of private capital firms. Our Fund Finance Group provides creatively designed credit solutions to meet the fund financing needs of a wide range of asset management firms, funds, and partnerships. We support clients at all stages of the investment lifecycle with capital call lines, management company lines and NAV facilities, as well as hybrid facilities. In addition to fund financing, we support our asset management client’s day-to-day banking operations with treasury management, foreign currency, interest rate, trade finance, and wealth management services. In partnership with our Commercial Teams, our Fund Finance experts deliver broad based financing support to our client’s underlying portfolio investments. Our Commercial Banking partners bring years of structuring expertise across most industries with “differentiated” focus in areas such as, Tailored Debt Solutions, Structured Finance/Litigation Finance, Unique CRE Solutions, Healthcare Finance, Franchise Finance, Energy Finance Experience in dealing with a wide array of corporate clients and credit structures; Thorough knowledge of the banking and financial services industries; Ability to quickly build credibility, close deals and win relationships from competitors in order to generate incremental loan outstanding, fees, deposit balances; Understanding of private investment firm structures, including buyout, fund of funds, venture capital, senior debt and mezzanine debt; Experience in negotiating term sheets, structuring credits, and reviewing and negotiating legal documents in partnership with counsel; Demonstrated ability in high level effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effect desired results in the back-office and product areas of the bank; Ability to write clearly and concisely in both internal credit memos and client communications. Team player with a highly developed ability to work and communicate effectively with credit, and all levels of management throughout the organization. This position handles needs for a wide array of borrowers with different credit structures and depository requirements. Responsibilities Underwrite, manage and structure fund financing loans including capital call lines, management company lines, NAV facilities and hybrid facilities, according to the Bank established guidelines and policies. Conduct due diligence/analysis with new client relationships and draft opportunity memos as appropriate. Manage the bank's Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits for new and existing loans. Partner with the Relationship Manager as the point of contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the Commercial support staff and other internal business partners. Work with credit analysts in reviewing existing credits. Ongoing monitoring of credit/Covenant Compliance. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established EWB credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. Perform other administrative duties required for the maintenance of a portfolio of clients. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or combination of education and directly related experience. Must have prior experience managing a team of credit analysts. Has 10 plus years of banking experience with direct portfolio management experience. Must have experience in underwriting loans within the Fund Finance space. Must be proficient in Excel for purposes of financial modeling.
