    VTC Project Overview

    VTC provides professional services related to Planning and Design of Baggage Handling Systems, Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (BHS/CBIS) and passenger checkpoints for Airports, Airlines, and the TSA. We perform Design/Build projects, Construction Management projects, and projects where we are providing BHS management expertise as an Owner’s Representative or as part of a Project Management Team (PMT). Sometimes we are the prime consultant/contractor on the project, sometimes we are a sub-consultant, our project managers should understand these project types and the different roles we play.     Planning Projects – we are a sub-consultant to Aviation Planners during terminal planning and master planning activities.Design Projects - we provide professional design engineering services, managing and coordinating our work and that of other architectural or engineering subconsultants contracted to us. Most frequently, about 90% of our projects we are a sub-consultant to the prime architectural/engineering firm hired by the owner or project sponsor. We are prime consultant 10% of the overall projects.Design/Build Projects - we prime small turn-key projects where we are responsible for the management and design of the project and would sub-contract the manufacturing, installation, and construction. We also work as a sub-consultant to other design/builders as their BHS designer and/or provide BHS expertise during construction to oversee BHS installation, testing, and training.Construction Management Projects – on some projects we are the Construction Manager for the entire project, inclusive of both BHS and building construction. On others we are a subcontractor to the Construction Manager or Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) where we provide BHS expertise during construction to oversee BHS installation, testing, and training.Owners Representative – we sometimes act as an Owners Representative or an extension of project management staff where BHS expertise is required by an Airline or Airport client.Requirements:

    Overall Responsibility

Serving as the primary point of contact for the client, the PM must understand the Client and other stakeholder goals, project objectives, policies, and politics and communicate and translate client requests properly within the project team.The project Manager orchestrates the activities required to deliver the project according to contractual terms. They will drive the project forward proactively, directing the team to achieve a common goal through effective delegation, executive decision making, promotion of good working relationships and identification and swift resolution of issues. Responsible for the health of the project, the project manager will perform ongoing quality control analysis, identify risks and contractual deviations, and develop mitigating solutions.

    Education and Required Experience

    The successful candidate for Project Manager will have graduated from an accredited college or university with a 4-year degree in Automation, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field OR several years project management experience. Performing work in an airport environment is desirable.

    Travel

    On average our project managers travel about 20%. The amount of travel per month will vary depending on the number of projects and the specific phases and tasks for those projects. Travel costs are estimated based on current FAR travel expense rates or on a client’s specific travel regulations. Some of our projects require actual expenses to be billed; others are based on per diem. Expenses are reimbursed. Company credit cards are not provided. Expense reports are due every two weeks (the week before payday). If submitted based on this schedule, your expense reimbursement will be included with your paycheck. Paychecks are distributed twice a month, either in the form of a check or direct deposit (your choice).

    Position Summary:

    ISI is seeking an experienced senior Construction Project Manager with strong expertise in vertical construction to provide Owner’s Representative construction management services within a dynamic federal facilities environment to a DoD client. The Project Manager will support a DOD client looking to manage $300M+ in ongoing minor construction and renovation projects, typically ranging up to $5 million in value.     Essential Job Functions

    Manages a portfolio of 5 to 10 active construction and renovation projects, typically ranging in value from $2,500 to $5 million. Project scopes may include interior fit-outs, MEP system upgrades, code compliance corrections, and mission-critical infrastructure replacements, procured through IDIQ task orders, A/E contracts, or Government-directed in-house scopes.Conducts or assists with site visits, field surveys, and constructability assessments to define scope requirements, verify as-built conditions, and assess compliance with WHS construction criteria, applicable codes, and building regulations.     Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Science, or Mathematics, and fifteen (15) years of construction management experience.

    OR Education may be substituted with an ACTIVE General Contractor/Construction Trades license and 25+ years of construction experience

    Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 fingerprint background check).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    The Role: Pre-Construction Project Manager

    Reporting to the Regional/National Program Director, the CDL Program Director is responsible for providing leadership for the CDL Program. As the subject matter expert in a particular program, this CDL Program Director provides face-to-face product knowledge training to the Admissions or student groups, utilizing materials generated via the centralized curriculum development process. The CDL Program Director is responsible for hiring, assigning, orienting, developing, evaluating, and recognizing instructors within the program(s) of study.
