Monitor and control the process, and product, to prevent non-conformance. Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMP's, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees. Troubleshoots to resolve problems. Responsible for proper packaging and labeling of work-in-process and/or finished product. Responsible for accurate documentation of process conditions. Maintains computer inventory. Machine maintenance. Lead and directs crew. Develops crew's skills and provides training. Sets next crew up for success and effectively and efficiently communicates at shift change to Operators and Supervisors. Verify measuring and test instruments calibration through records and control charts prior to use. Ensure conformance to winder quality audit sheet. Set up and clean up machine. High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Nine to twelve months related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines. Assists with machine setup, prepares machinery for operation by setting up tools, loading materials, and adjusting settings as directed by the primary operator. Supplies raw material or competent specific to the press machine as needed, ensuring a steady flow of materials to maintain efficient production levels. Monitors press machine operations, observes the machine during operation to ensure the machine is running as expected, notifying the primary operator or supervisor of any issues or malfunctions. Assists with routine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, or replacing parts, adjusting machine settings, or other standard practices to ensure proper operation of the machine and to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Troubleshoots minor technical issues, performs minor repairs or adjustments under the guidance of the primary operator or maintenance personnel. Ability to fill-in or temporarily run the machine during shift changes, or as necessary. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment by performing standard tasks such as removing debris or waste materials. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member. Completes production logs or reports as required for documentation purposes, including but not limited to, production output, machine downtime, or any maintenance or repair activities. Operators load converting bag machines with roll stock of film (plastic). The operator sets up the machines to the customer's specification and the converting bag machine forms the bag or the pouch. Operators are responsible for efficiently operating the converting bag machine, including but not limited to: machine setup, bag production, handling finished product, quality control and reporting while adhering to safety guidelines.Requirements:
Able to regularly lift 10-15lbs and occasionally 50lbs of product Great attitude and attendance is a must! The primary responsibility of the Extruder Technical Team Leader is to keep the machines running at the highest level of proficiency as possible. This position will be responsible for both assisting the Supervisor in the overall operation of his or her assigned shift, as well as controlling and monitoring the film production of his or her designated lines. Essential Duties and Tasks
Designs and implements safety and environmental policies and procedures including, but not limited to, written programs, recordkeeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations by staying informed about changes, interpreting requirements, and implementing necessary adjustments to programs, processes, and policies. Facilitate EHS training programs to employees at all levels, to ensure employees' knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations pertaining to all facilities. Conduct and document regular EHS audits and inspections as needed to assure compliance with applicable permits, regulations, and requirements. Manage and coordinate visits from internal and external regulatory authorities and file annual local, state and federal environmental reports potentially including air, waste, water, Tier II, and Form R. Direct and provide guidance to the site safety committee with inspections to assess compliance with policies and regulations, identifying, determining, and implementing, corrective and preventative measures for areas with existing or potential accident and health hazards. Manages workers compensation cases and EHS programs, including cost control/reduction and accident prevention/ reduction, safety behavior audit, and risk assessment programs Develop protocols and manage the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in EHS performance by evaluating existing programs, identifying areas for enhancement, and coordinating development of EHS improvement strategic plan, collaborating with site managers. Develop safety strategies to correct and prevent potential accidents or health hazards.by analyzing safety history, manufacturing processes, product machinery, and chemical exposures to determine safety hazards, identify trends. BS required in a related field Certifications required/preferred include Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) 3-6 years' experience in a related field This position is a subject matter expert in a particular field Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Outlook email and calendar.
