Key responsibilities include covering 12-hour shifts (8AM 8PM or 8PM 8AM), participating in a well-equipped ED managing approximately 15,000 annual visits. You will assess and treat an increasing patient volume starting around 20 patients daily during the first six months, reaching up to 40 daily by year's end ensuring excellent patient outcomes. The department offers 24/7 radiology services (CT and X-ray), lab services, and surgical support at Lansing, with no MRI services. Providers are expected to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, utilizing efficient documentation through DocTime.
Required skills for this role include:
MD or DO medical degree and valid medical license to practice in MichiganBoard certification or eligibility in Emergency MedicineProven emergency medicine experience with strong clinical decision-making skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in triage, patient assessment, and emergency procedures
Nice to have skills:
Previous experience in a hospital-based Emergency DepartmentFamiliarity with electronic medical records systemsAdvanced life support certifications (ACLS, PALS)
Preferred education and experience:

This position offers competitive hourly pay, with rates to be submitted (including malpractice coverage and orientation time). Orientation and training are compensated at half the hourly rate, and holiday pay is 1.5x.
