    Responsibilities

    Oversee and assist the pediatric residents ensuring they are providing appropriate care to pediatric patients.
    Diagnose and treat any disease, injury, malocclusion, or malposition of a tooth, gum, jaw, or structure associated with the head and neck as appropriate.
    Provide oral health education to patients and families.
    Establish rapport and identify patients chief complaints, general needs and expectations.
    Knowledge to provide preventive, therapeutic and educational methods for controlling oral disease as an aid to patients.
    Anticipate, diagnose, and provide treatment and follow-up management for dental treatment.
    Practice within the scope of one s competence and make referrals to professional colleagues as appropriate.
    Select, obtain, and interpret clinical, radiographic, and other diagnostic information and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine.
    Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry.

    Responsibilities
    Responsible to examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities.
    Responsible to practice at the full scope of their licensure and prescribes medications to treat eye diseases as state law permits.
    Responsible to prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.
    Responsible to analyze test results and develop treatment plans.
    Responsible to educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
    Responsible to remove foreign bodies from the eye.
    Responsible to order and interpret special-testing data for patients.
    Responsible to observe and train staff regarding appropriate work-up procedures.
    Responsible to consult with and refer patients to Ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner, if additional medical treatment is determined necessary.
