Additionally, there are 5 outreach pediatric cardiologists who provide outpatient cardiology services and perform fetal echocardiograms with Heart Center for Children and Pediatric Cardiology of North Texas who are part of the Heart Center. The cardiac ICU is staffed by 6 trained cardiac intensivists and 9 advanced practice providers. Our new Heart Center is currently under construction and will be completed in early 2026. The Heart Center will include 24 dedicated cardiac ICU beds, 12 bed cardiac step-down unit, 2 brand new state of the art cardiac catheterization laboratories, new electrophysiology suite with advanced 3D mapping which allows us to perform electrophysiology studies and ablations with minimal or no radiation exposure, and 2 cardiac operating rooms, one of which will be a hybrid suite.
