    Position Overview:

    White Rock Medical Center is recruiting an exceptional Advanced Practice Provider to join our prestigious Emergency Room Team. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-acuity care in a fast-paced hospital environment while working alongside board-certified hospitalists and subspecialty physicians. You'll be integral to delivering comprehensive inpatient care and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in our state-of-the-art facility.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Comprehensive Hospital Care: Conduct thorough patient admissions, daily rounds, and coordinate discharge planning for medical patientsComplex Case Management: Manage acute exacerbations of chronic conditions, multi-organ system diseases, and post-operative medical careClinical Documentation: Maintain detailed EMR documentation supporting quality care and appropriate reimbursementMultidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nursing, pharmacy, case management, and specialty consultants to optimize patient outcomesQuality Improvement: Actively participate in quality initiatives, patient safety programs, and clinical protocol developmentTeaching and Mentoring: Contribute to education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare providers as appropriate

    Requirements:

    Required:

    Current Texas licensure and national certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantACLS and BLS certifications (current)Strong clinical decision-making and communication skillsProficiency in hospital EMR systems and clinical documentation

    Strongly Preferred:

    2+ years as of NP experience, internal medicine, or acute care experienceExperience with complex medical conditions and hospital-based proceduresFamiliarity with quality metrics and hospital performance indicatorsAdditional certifications in critical care or hospital medicine

    Job Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Lead Physician and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary care to ambulatory patients through regular health assessments and the management of common acute and chronic stable conditions.

    WRMC is looking for dependable, highly enthusiastic, experienced nurse practitioners for FT position. The job requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a team member. This position is full time, Monday to Friday. No weekends.


    Essential Functions

    Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.Orders collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.Prescribes, recommends, and/or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in accordance with approved policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate. Evaluate patient’s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.Counsels patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health-illness/condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter medications, and herbal remedies.Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds the scope of practice and/or expertise.Provides consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider’s specialty and training.Performs invasive procedures specific to the scope of practice and provider’s level of competency as delegated by supervising Physician.May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs of the department.Able to treat pediatric and geriatric patient
