The Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive care for patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions, including disorders of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas. NGH continues to maintain its strong commitment to the healthcare needs of Nashville and Davidson County underserved, while also providing care to all segments of the communityResponsibilities:Patient Care:Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues.Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient history.Perform diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies.Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging results to guide treatment decisions.Manage chronic gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on procedures and lifestyle modifications.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and dietitians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to enhance patient management.Clinical Research and Education:Engage in clinical research activities and contribute to advancements in gastroenterology.Stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field of gastroenterology.Mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.Qualifications:Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.Training: Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology..Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.Experience: 2 years of experience in gastroenterology preferred.
