    Essential FunctionsThe following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position. An employee in this classification is responsible for carrying out the following functions:1. Function independently and autonomously in providing early intervention services to infants, toddlers, and families.2. Use a family-centered approach while integrating parent coaching into every session. 3. Provide evaluation addressing five major developmental domains including: cognitive, language, social, motor, and self-help skills.4. Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessment of infants and toddlers including muscle tone, range of motion, reflex development, and movement patterns. Identify neurological sequelae and develop and implement treatment plan based on assessment findings.5. Provide updated, developmental information at scheduled IEP’s and IFSP’s and establish appropriate goals and objectives.6. Independently recognize those families in crisis and provide appropriate consultation and referral regarding issues related to child abuse, domestic violence, parental stress/conflicts, and substance abuse.7. Acts as a mandated reported.8. Present in-service trainings to HOPE staff and provide trainings to outside agencies, on an as needed basis.9.     Qualifications RequiredDoctorate in Physical Therapy unless grandfathered in with a Master’s Degree, but must be licensed to practice. One year of related experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
