What Your Job Will Be Like We are seeking a postdoctoral appointee to join our quantum optics and quantum sensing group at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnology (CINT) at Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico). The focus of this group is discovering and utilizing solid state defect centers in wide bandgap semiconductors for quantum information and quantum sensing. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in experimental optics, quantum information, and/or condensed matter physics. All equipment/resources are provided within our center. The candidate will be working closely a team of staff, postdoc, graduate students and technologists who are experts in ion nano-implantation, quantum information sciences, single photon emitters, and nitrogen-vacancy magnetometry. The postdoctoral candidate will engage in original research in many areas of solid-state defect center discovery and utilization, including new capability demonstration. A Ph.D. in physics, materials science, chemistry or a related field is required. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
