    Medical Scribe – Jacksonville

     

    Join our team at Pediatric Eye Consultant of Central FL, a Division of Florida Pediatric Associates and play a key role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. In this position, you will support healthcare providers, contribute to a positive patient experience, and be part of a collaborative, patient-focused team dedicated to making every visit meaningful.

     

    Position Summary:

    The primary responsibility of the Medical Scribe is to provide real-time documentation support to on-site practitioner. The Medical Scribe ensures accurate and complete recording of patient encounters, clinical procedures, and treatment plans, allowing on-site practitioner to focus on patient care while maintaining high standards of documentation quality and compliance.

     

    Education and Training

    High School Diploma or GEDCertified Medical Scribe Professional - preferred

     

    Experience 

    Minimum of one (1) year working as a Medical Scribe or in a clinical documentation role in medical practice.

     

    Skills

    Working knowledge of:

    Medical equipment and clinical instrumentsElectronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

    Understanding of:

    Medical terminology, anatomy, and common clinical conditionsClinical workflows and patient encounter processes in a medical settingsDocumentation standards, accuracy, and real-time charting requirements Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and proper data entry practices Physician dictation, instructions, and medical decision-making processes 

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Accompany the on-site practitioner during patient visits to accurately document medical histories, physical exams, assessments, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Record patient information, including history of present illness, review of systems, and past medical history. Document procedures, diagnostic results, and physician instructions in a timely and accurate manner. Assist with chart preparation prior to patient visits, ensuring all relevant information is available. Support on-site practitioner with administrative tasks such as completing forms, referrals, and prescription documentation. Ensure all documentation meets quality and compliance standards. Communicate effectively with on-site practitioner and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow.Escort patients to check-out or optical dispensary areas as needed to ensure a smooth transition of care. Seek guidance from senior staff when necessary and perform duties within the scope of training and competency.
