    What does it mean to be part of the Order Selection Team?
    In this fast-paced role, you are considered an industrial athlete. You are the boots on the ground and responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. This role requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment including Electric Pallet Jacks while ensuring that you safely and accurately move product within the warehouse.     Job Responsibilities:

    Operates and inspects a double electric pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner Identifies pick location and accurately selects a variety of food/ beverage cases and stacks them onto pallets Maintains order selection performance standards of speed and accuracy Safely handles and prepares items for shipment, shrink-wrapping, and labeling orders Reports any safety issues to, supervisor immediately and helps maintain a clean work area Perform other tasks as needed


    Job Requirements:

    Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required Ability to select at established minimum rate for department Understand and properly follow all selection procedures and verbal instructions in your respective area Possess an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available


    Physical Environment/Demands:

    Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation. Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


    Work Environment:

    This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.

    Compensation:

    UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.     QUALIFICATIONS
    Education
    HSD or equivalent preferred

    Experience
    1-year of warehouse office experience preferred

    Skills

    Ability to operate a computer and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook)AS400 experience preferred.Ability to work in both ambient and freezer temperatures.Ability to read and speak English.Attention to detail requiredThe workload can vary significantly.Associates in this department must have the flexibility to work shifts that may include long hours and have varying shift start and end times.

    General Summary:
    Loads and unloads trailers, selects merchandise from area to place on conveyors, forklift equipment throughout Distribution Center.
    Essential Job Functions:
    Will be assigned a primary job function, Repack, Bulk, Forklift, Receiving
    All associates will be cross trained and float to other departments based on business need.
    Load and unload merchandise.
    Check, verify, and audit merchandise and enter data into remote data terminals to ensure that ordered merchandise is as ordered and not damaged.
    Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise to be relocated to appropriate area of distribution center.
    Operate forklift type equipment to move and store merchandise. Replenish pick areas identified by replenishment screens or report various requests for needed merchandise.
    Fills merchandise orders by selecting and moving merchandise from active location to conveyor, and/or slot to pallet or box to fill orders.
    Load merchandise onto trailers by moving merchandise from conveyor to trailer or from pallet to trailer. Scan non-conveyable or non-diverted merchandise prior to loading on trailer.
    Check merchandise to ensure that shipment is accurate, and merchandise is not damaged and is loaded onto proper trailer.
    Perform general housekeeping duties.
    Perform varied duties (as listed above) depending on department assignment.
    Department assignment will change depending on Distribution Center needs.
    All other miscellaneous duties as needed as assigned by management
    Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
    High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse experience preferred.
    Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes, as required.
