Sr. Project Cost Analyst Salary target: $125-150k Location: Port Washington, WI (Fully Onsite) Full-Time Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and operationally focused Costing professional with deep experience in project-based environments . The ideal candidate excels in complex costing scenarios, thrives amid ambiguity, and brings a process-improvement mindset to drive accuracy, profitability insights, and better cost discipline across the business. Key Responsibilities Project Job Costing in Complex Environments Lead costing activities across engineered-to-order, custom manufacturing, construction, or similar project-based operations—beyond traditional plant or standard cost accounting. Quoted/Budgeted vs. Actual Cost Analysis Review and analyze variances between estimated and actual results; identify drivers of cost overruns, margin leakage, and operational inefficiencies. Margin Profitability Insight Investigate margin erosion, determine where projects lose money, and deliver actionable insights to leadership, operations, installation teams, or engineering. Manage High Project Volume Support and track costing for 40–50+ live projects simultaneously, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment. Cross-Functional Operations Support Partner closely with installation teams, schedulers, production, and operations to understand status, handoffs, bottlenecks, and cost drivers across the project lifecycle. ERP Data Management Operate effectively in an environment with imperfect or non-integrated ERP systems; pull data manually, consolidate fragmented information, and build clear, reliable reporting. Process Improvement Modeling Develop improved costing models, templates, estimation tools, and standardized reporting approaches to strengthen forecasting and operational transparency. Revenue Cost Recognition Apply knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting , project-based revenue recognition, and cost tracking to ensure accurate financial reporting. Qualifications Experience in project-based costing within manufacturing, engineered products, telecom infrastructure, construction, defense, or similar settings. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate incomplete or messy data into actionable insights. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing detail or accuracy. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly operations and engineering. Demonstrated track record of improving costing processes, models, or reporting frameworks. Familiarity with ERP systems and comfort navigating environments that require manual data extraction or custom reporting solutions.
