    Job Overview:

    Key Requirements: 

    As an MPAC Healthcare Nurse Practitioner, you will be a leading member of a multidisciplinary clinical team treating patients exclusively at a designated facility. In this fast-paced role, you will apply a broad spectrum of clinical knowledge, working closely with the facility Director of Nursing and Attending Physicians to coordinate patient care for better outcomes. Ensuring continuity of care, you will function as the primary care provider and a leader to the nursing team as you follow patients through each step of their recovery. 

    Nurse Practitioner License

    Experience in a nursing home space is a plus

    Typically, the APN is onsite, daily as a full-time practitioner, working a standard Monday – Friday work week with flexibility in the 40-hour work week. Most providers designate a 4-hour window to accept calls Monday - Friday and only need to take weekend call on a rotating basis once every 5-6 weeks. Providers will never go into a facility or take any overnight call.

    Job Description

    This position is contingent on contract award.

    The Nurse Practitioner is responsible to perform a review of military service applicants medical histories, perform medical evaluations, and conduct reviews of medical test results and documents, with an end goal of determining whether the applicant meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed facilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive health evaluations and assessments of individuals undergoing military processing. Perform physical examinations, taking medical history, and evaluating applicants' physical and mental health status. Assess eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense (DoD) medical standards. Interpret laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests to determine candidates' fitness for military service. Diagnose common medical conditions and provide appropriate treatment plans. Prescribe medications and manage common health issues in accordance with military protocols. Provide health education on topics such as nutrition, lifestyle, and preventive care to applicants. Counsel applicants on the implications of their health status and potential impact on their military career. Work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Coordinate referrals to specialists, when necessary, for further evaluation of health concerns. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient interactions. Ensure compliance with military regulations and healthcare protocols in all documentation. Stay current with Department of Defense policies, regulations, and standards related to medical processing. Participate in training and education to improve knowledge of military health guidelines and required competencies. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance healthcare delivery. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care. Be prepared to act quickly and effectively in emergency medical situations, providing critical care as needed. Pursue ongoing education to maintain licensure and stay updated on advancements in healthcare practices and military medicine. Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Knowledge: 

    Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.   Two (2) years' experience in the last three years prior to contract execution. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

    Education Required:  

    Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).   Certified in the state as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate. 

    Physical Requirements: 

    Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending/stooping, kneeling, twisting.  Visual acuity. Minimal hearing loss.   Push/pull/carry minimum 50 lbs. 

    Other Special Qualifications: 

    Must have a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) at the time the services are performed and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the contract.
