    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Cloud Infrastructure and Server Management:
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud-hosted servers and services primarily in MS Azure.
    • Manage virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-native virtualization solutions.
    • Optimize and manage WP Engine-hosted websites, ensuring uptime, security, and performance.
    • Maintain and monitor Sucuri Web Application Firewall (WAF) and security services for all web properties.
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and redundancy of cloud-based infrastructure.
    • Manage cloud-networking configurations, including VPNs, load balancers, and cloud firewalls.

    Security and Compliance:
    • Maintain security best practices and standards, including web application firewalls (WAF), malware detection, and participate with incident response as needed.
    • Ensure cloud security best practices, including IAM, Entra ID, O365 Defender, encryption, network security policies, and compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, and PCI-DSS.
    • Configure and enforce access control policies in WP Engine, AWS, Azure and O365 Services, and WAF.

    Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
    • Utilize monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds and Pingdom, to track and remediate cloud and server performance, uptime, and network health.
    • Proactively monitor WP Engine-hosted websites for performance bottlenecks, downtime, and security threats.
    • Optimize cloud resource utilization to manage/reduce costs and improve efficiency.
    • Perform regular system maintenance, including patching, updates, and performance tuning.

    Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve complex cloud, server, and website performance issues, including system failures, connectivity problems, and security threats.
    • Provide advanced support for cloud-based applications, database servers, and virtualized workloads.
    • Act as an escalation point for cloud and web hosting-related incidents.
    • Coordinate with Sucuri, WP Engine, AWS, and Azure support teams for troubleshooting and system enhancements.

    Cloud Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
    • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, or CloudFormation for automated deployments.
    • Implement cloud automation for provisioning, scaling, and backup management.
    • Develop scripts in PowerShell to enhance system administration and automate tasks.

    Documentation and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain detailed cloud and system documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with IT governance policies, security best practices, and regulatory frameworks.
    • Maintain accurate WP Engine, Sucuri, SolarWinds, and Pingdom documentation for performance tracking and issue resolution.

    Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
    • Communicate system updates, security alerts, and best practices to stakeholders.
    • Provide recommendations for cloud service adoption, optimization, and migration strategies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish), oral and written.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in network and communication administration.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in system administration, cloud infrastructure, and web hosting management.
    • Strong experience with security protocols and practices.

    Summary:

This person must know how to communicate properly in English or Spanish, both written and oral, with faculty, students, and other coworkers. Also, must be organized and keep a record of all the procedures that are requested and that are done in the course templates. This person must be available to get connected after hours in cases of emergency regarding the instructional design of the course. Must be available to help the LMS administrators find solutions and conduct tests in case of technical problems with the distance education platform.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    Perform the building and maintenance of online courses. Collaborate with the Director of the Instructional Design Department to evaluate and ensure the functionality of online courses. Primarily support faculty by addressing issues related to instructional design in online courses. Apply NUC University's instructional design principles correctly within the learning management system. Communicate effectively with individuals involved in each request made to the ticket center. In case of technical problems with the platform, collaborate with the IT staff to test and find solutions. Provide monthly reports on the serviced tickets, categorizing them as needed. Keep all course documentation up to date after any changes resulting from a ticket. Document all requested course changes and coordinate necessary steps with relevant departments for approval and validation. Prepare copies for the technical validation (QAV) of completed courses. Participate in meetings with external vendors for tool evaluations and LTI integrations. Develop tutorials, brochures, and institutional guides for students regarding the use of the distance education platform and other technological tools. Provide reports on the services delivered or pending through the ticket center. Support the implementation of new technologies through technical assistance, training, or any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. Submit any required documents. Perform other tasks related to the position. 

    Qualifications/Competencies/Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum. Master's degree preferred. Being skilled in using basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), Internet browsing, electronic communication, and, most desirable, fair knowledge of one or more distance learning platforms currently used, as well as authoring and AI tools.Work environment is active and dynamic, and it requires the performance of different tasks in the office.
