This role involves troubleshooting system issues, ensuring efficient water usage, and performing regular inspections and adjustments to optimize system performance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair irrigation systems.Repair leaks, replace, and adjust sprinkler heads as needed. Ensure landscape maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently, on schedule, and in a safe manner. Help to monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain purchase documentation. Dig trenches and pits to install, repair, and maintain underground irrigation pipes and sprinkler systems in diverse landscapes such as gardens and lawns. RequirementsPosition RequirementsGood knowledge of turf grass, plant material, and horticultural practices. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Ability to repair and troubleshoot commercial irrigation systems as required. Experience to program irrigation clocks to ensure proper watering of district landscaping. Solid understanding of basic pipe sizing and basic irrigation design concepts. Strong work ethic/self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multitask. They assess lawn conditions, provide tailored care recommendations, and maintain and operate spraying equipment such as backpack and truck-mounted sprayers. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper chemical handling, wearing protective gear, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. Technicians also communicate with customers to address questions, resolve issues, and provide service updates, while keeping detailed treatment logs and reports to ensure proper documentation and compliance. Regular equipment maintenance and environmental responsibility in chemical application are key aspects of the job.Qualifications and Education RequirementsAt least 1-2 years of experience in lawn care, landscaping, or a related field, with a focus on chemical application.Experience with the safe operation of lawn spraying equipment.Valid pesticide applicator’s license or certification (required; must comply with local/state regulations).Certification in turfgrass management or pest management (preferred, but not required).Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.Knowledge of turf care, pest control, and lawn fertilization techniques.Ability to identify common lawn pests, diseases, and nutrient deficienciesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.Basic record-keeping and computer skills for logging treatments and scheduling.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods while spraying.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to operate and maintain spraying equipment.Working Conditions: Work outdoors, in all-weather conditions.Work in residential and commercial properties.May require early mornings, evenings, or occasional Saturdays during peak or rainy seasons.Compensation and Benefits:Compensation: Hourly rate $23-25 per hour, depending on experience.Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401K Retirement Plan.
