We are currently seeking a Warehouse/Driver to join our team in Burton, MI.

Position Summary:

Michigan Electric Supply Co, a distributor of Electrical Supplies and PPE Safety products, is seeking a Delivery Driver to join its team.

Local deliveries in company vehicle. Other warehousing task are shipping and receiving, order filling, shelf stocking and other duties directed by manager. Must be a team player and able to work well with others.

Responsible for loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, and assisting the Operations Manager with the daily operations of the warehouse.

Requirements:
·High School Diploma or equivalent.
·Must be able to lift 50 pounds above your head.
·Must be able to work in all weather conditions and outdoors in outdoor settings.
·Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
·Must have a valid chauffeurs driver’s license,

MDOT health card and clean driving record are Mandatory

Responsibly transports and loads/unloads items to a customer s job site, place of business, or other assigned destination.Build strong relationships with the customers to ensure that we continue to deliver an outstanding customer experience.Inspect truck pre and post trip to ensure everything, including emergency, mechanical and safety gear, is in working order.Performs required minor maintenance and keeps the vehicle clean.Obtain and maintain necessary documentation such as proof of delivery/pick up, driver logs, truck condition forms, maintenance logs, etc.Collects/picks up empty containers or rejected/unsold merchandise.Assist with branch operations such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock, cycle counts/inventory, etc.Supports the branch with counter sales support.Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalencyValid driver s license with a satisfactory MVRPass and maintain organizational forklift certification.At least one years experience or driver certificate from driver training schoolRegularly required to sit. Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend frequently, twist, reach, stretch, kneel, squat, push, pull, and lift items that may weigh up to 75 pounds. The role also regularly to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material, payment processing, etc. The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, MVR, TXDOT hazmat test with endorsements, and background check.

Job DescriptionJob Description

OBJECTIVE: Responsible for delivering orders to customers. Consistently adhere to and model all safety requirements.

Essential Functions

A) Deliver orders to customers as orders are scheduled

B) Perform daily vehicle check and submit form to customer service. Insure delivery vehicles are properly maintained and safe to operate at all times

C) Build delivery orders for next day’s route

D) Accurately track product that is delivered

E) Provide customer sign-off of material and submit to customer service

F) Replenish shelves/racking with material

G) Work with customer service to track special order items. Monitor open orders, tracking inbound product and preparing for deliveries

H) Keep warehouse clean and organized and assist in warehouse as assigned

I) Properly complete required paperwork

J) Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 40 pounds. Must be able to operate a vehicle. Must be able to stand and/or sit for minimum 8 hours per day.

K) Must be able to report to work-site, on time, daily

L) At all times safely perform all duties, including but not limited to operating vehicles

Other Duties

A) Maintain registration and insurance documents for delivery vehicles

B) Participate in month-end inventory reconciliation

C) Assist with projects, including but not limited to: general maintenance and safety

D) Serve as back up driver

E) At all times behave in a courteous and professional manner

 

Reporting Relationship

A) Reports to the Warehouse Supervisor

B) Works directly with the warehouse personnel and customer service

 

Minimum Qualifications

A) Work experience as a delivery driver

B) Experience operating a forklift

C) Basic math, reading and writing skills

D) Valid Hawaii drivers’ license for past three (3) years

E) Clean driving record and eligible to be covered by Fleenor auto insurer

F) Experience operating a delivery vehicle

G) High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

A) Working knowledge of packaging products, computer literate

B) Work experience as delivery driver on Oahu with great knowledge of Oahu roads

 

 

Physical Environment/Working Conditions

This position is in a warehouse, public roads and customer locations. Temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and employees must be cautious around equipment and forklifts.
