    A Heavy Equipment Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains diesel and gas-powered machinerysuch as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and cranesto ensure operational safety and efficiency.


    Responsibilities

    Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild and maintain power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.Weld broken parts and structural members may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.Performs other duties as assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    A good working knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.Strong knowledge and understanding of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics.Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and computerized, specialized, and precision measuring instruments.


    Qualifications

    Minimum 2 years' experience.High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.)ASE Certification preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Medium/heavy - exert force of 50-100 lbs., occasionally; 25-50 lbs., frequently; or 10-20 lbs., constantly. Frequent talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, crouching, reaching, handling, repetitive fine motor activities, and feeling. Hearing and speech to communicate in person, via video conference and computers, or over the telephone. Mobility to work in a typical mechanic shop and use of mechanical equipment. Stamina to remain standing/stooping and maintain concentration for an extended period. Vision: Frequent near acuity, depth perception, and color vision.

    Environmental Conditions:

    Varies from a climate-controlled office setting to work in an open garage with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud for occasional to frequent time periods.

    Job Summary

    Project Engineer follows duties and responsibilities as assigned by Project Manager(s).These may include items related to assisting in managing, planning and coordinating technical engineering initiative to make sure the project is within their budget and according to a schedule.     Duties and Responsibilities

    Project Engineer will assist with tasks and duties as requested by Project Manager and/or Operations Manager.

    Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities

Secures all loads that are being transported according to TxDot regulations. Inspect loads for any damages before and after to ensure the quality of delivered equipment.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Driving vehicles or mechanized equipment and transport the heavy equipment from one job site or yard to another job site or yard.Follow all OSHA and TxDOT regulations.Inspecting equipment, loads, materials and identify any cause of errors or other problems or defects before and after to ensure the quality of delivered equipment.Observing, receiving, information while driving and following safety regulations.Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems all while driving.Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.Keep constant communication with Superintendents to ensure timely pickup/delivery of equipment.Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered equipment.
    Assist Labor Crews with manual labor as needed and necessary for the completion of the project.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge of principles and methods for transporting heavy equipment from site to site.Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.Prior experience in a construction environment a must.Must have current CDL/Hazmat, medical card, and experience working around heavy equipment.Have a positive attitude, team player andstronglycommitted to safety.

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

    Follow all Safety Regulations and TxDOT requirements.Must meet 90% language DOT requirement.Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.Able to bend, stoop, climb, repeatedly throughout the day.Must be able to sit, walk, stand for long periods of time.Able to drive on rough, rocky or uneven surfaces at construction sites.Must be able to perform heavy labor tasks as necessary.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Experience & Education
