The CRC (Customer Repair Center) Technician II is responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, repair and refurbishment of all types of electronic, optical and electro-mechanical equipment, finished products, devices, assemblies, sub-assemblies in a regulated, medical device environment.

AA or AS degree or equivalent education in appropriate field such as Mechanical, Electronics, PC hardware repair, Optics, Networking, Quality Control, is preferred.3-4 years' experience performing alignment, calibration, repair and testing of moderately complex electro-mechanical, mechanical, or optical assemblies and subassemblies in a medical device repair center or field environment.Intermediate knowledge of principles and theories of electronics, electrical, electromechanical circuitry, optics, computer systems, image processing, laser imaging.Good written and verbal English communication, comprehension and mathematics skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to resolve issues and adapt to changing priorities.Proficiency at intermediate skill level with computer navigation, file manipulation and common office computer software.Experience in handling medical devices or handling product and packaging material.High level of manual dexterity. Competent ability in use of manual and power tools including Allen keys, torque drivers, screw drivers, and other miscellaneous hand tools including drill, saw, and belt sander. This is a field-based role with a primary location in Fremont, CA, requiring international travel for training and collaboration with factory experts. Perform hands-on operation, service, and upkeep of FIB-SEM systems.

Manage spare parts inventory, including ordering and returns.

Do you qualify?
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Optics, or Mechatronics preferred, or equivalent with 5 years of industry experience in optics or mechatronics.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering documentation and schematics.
Technical experience in the semiconductor industry; experience in optics is preferred.
Ability to work independently, strong hands-on skills, and assertiveness.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Compensation:
Annual Pay Range: $97,000 - $122,000

What's the role?
The Field Support Engineer II, with limited supervision, installs, repairs, upgrades and performs preventative maintenance on specified Carl Zeiss Meditec instrumentation in a designated field service territory. Represents Carl Zeiss Meditec at customer locations and works to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. Extensive overnight travel is required by automobile and air.Must be able to travel in the US and internationally for training, meetings, exhibit support and coverage outside assigned territory. The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the transition of new products from Development into sustained Manufacturing and support products through the lifecycle. Apply Engineering principles to analyze, develop and implement Engineering Change Orders and/or Deviations to document all changes to production process, tools or parts in accordance with GMP and ISO quality requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Development of new manufacturing technology to increase production capacity, enable future product technology introduction and decrease cost of production maintaining high quality and environmental protection and work safety standards.Identify improvement potentials for production processes (capacity analysis, lead time analysis) and cost of production (labor efficiency, material yield rate, other costs).Develop new technology in a structured approach based on business case analysis.Integrate best practices regarding safety and ergonomics in production workstations.Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of product, process, and/or data requires an identification and gathering of relevant factors Performance improvement of installed manufacturing technology at the Chesterfield Site applying continuous improvement, lean, 6 sigma or other methods.Improve Overall Equipment Efficiency of existing manufacturing equipment by means of a structured approach (reduce gap between real output and theoretical output), jointly with productionOptimize capacity of existing manufacturing equipment (increase theoretical output).Continuously track production capacity.Design and construct or specify and purchase electrical, mechanical and/or software tools and fixtures for performing various tasks in a safe, efficient, repeatable and cost-effective manner. Contribute to the global ZEISS team through coordination and implementation of improvement projects with sister sites. Promote knowledge transfer and coordination for implementation of improvement projects from ZEISS global locations to local site and vice versa.

While coordinating with repair, dealer service and sales teams, resolve consumer issues and drive high levels of customer satisfaction. Present and available to answer customer phone calls, advising customers on sending product for repair, the repair process, warranty coverage, exchanges, technical support, and any other customer queriesCoordinate customer activities with the other consumer products teams, keeping the Customer Care Manager aware of potential problems and escalations.
Provide exceptional technical support to consumers for the entire catalog of ZEISS sports optics products.
Maintain a "can-do" attitude while fielding, and driving the resolution of, customer issues.
Be a key point of contact for consumers via phone, email, web-based inquiries, and voice mail messages.
Coordinate with the service center to recommend appropriate product replacements and upgrades.
Enter warranty replacement, repair estimate and sales orders into SAP as required.
Accurately update service cases in Salesforce as contacts with customers occur.
Receive consumer spare part requests and accurately process spare parts orders.
Infrequently attend events or trade shows, as required.
Other duties or projects as assigned by the Customer Care Manager.
Do you qualify?
HS Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
3 - 5 years experience in customer care, technical support or a related field preferred.
Experience using hunting or nature observation optics (riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes) is required.
Knowledge of hunting firearms and ballistics is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal & written) to effectively serve all customer mentalities.
Strong trouble shooting skills; Problem solving mindset with attention to detail.
SAP and Salesforce experience is strongly preferred. Aptitude to quickly become proficient with these applications is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams)
Work Location & Flexibility:
Primary work location is Hebron, KY.
Full-time remote work may be considered depending on the candidate's qualifications.
Minimal travel may be required.

What's the role?
As a Field Service Technician with our CT team you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. Show case your skills and experience by process enhancements focused on installation and servicing of custom equipment. You will interact with customers and cross functional service groups that support and launch ZEISS products into the field. Additionally, you will aid the R&D team with engineering work in relation to design, build, and new system testing. This position will also support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.

Perform necessary administrative paperwork in a complete and accurate manner.

Do you qualify?
Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or training and experience from Military Technical School OR 4 years related experience is required.
Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
Valid Driver License required.
Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.
The annual pay range for this position is $46,000 - $57,000 The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
Nice to haves:
Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
Previous CT machine (Computed Tomography scan) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.
