    Job Summary

    We are seeking a reliable and motivated Merchandise Sorter to join our retail team in our, Liberty, OH location. This role is essential in ensuring our store is stocked with quality merchandise for our customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable of performing the job duties, and committed to regular attendance.

    Responsibilities

    Sort, inspect, and organize donated merchandise for display on the sales floor.Ensure items meet Goodwill’s quality standards.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Assist with pricing and tagging merchandise as needed.Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations.Provide friendly and professional customer service when interacting with shoppers.

    Qualifications

    Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Dependable with a commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance.Positive attitude and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.No criminal background that would be incompatible with a retail environment (background check required).Previous retail or sorting experience is a plus but not required.

    The Material Handler supports Goodwill’s Donated Goods & Retail (DGR) optimization strategy by ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of donated goods throughout the retail store operation. This store-based role focuses on material flow, staging, and transport to support speed-to-floor, reduce unnecessary handling, and reinforce 1-Touch principles.

    Working closely with the Donation Attendant, Sorter, Retail Producer, and others, the Material Handler helps maintain an organized, safe, and productive environment that supports downstream processing and retail execution.

    The following duties are considered essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

    Material Flow & DGR Support

    Move donated goods efficiently between donation intake, sorting, processing, staging, and sales floor areas.Support speed-to-floor by staging merchandise in designated locations according to DGR flow standards.Apply1-Touchprinciples by minimizing unnecessary rehandling or backtracking of materials.Assist with repositioning merchandise during peak donation or sales periods.

    Loading, Unloading & Transport

    Equipment Operation & Safety
