The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Grassroots Regional Director assists the Director for Grassroots and Constituent Affairs with the development and implementation of WWP's grassroots program and oversees day-to-day management of WWP's volunteer-advocate engagement within an assigned region. Primary responsibilities for this role include the facilitation of volunteer-advocate management, communications, recruitment, and training through direct outreach, meeting and event coordination, and operational oversight. The Grassroots Regional Director plays a key role in elevating the voice of our post-9/11 veterans by developing and managing a large, geographically dispersed volunteer-advocate network and facilitating advocacy training and engagement opportunities in furtherance of WWP legislative priorities. DUTIES logistical preparation; meeting scheduling; and all other related requirements. Assist with the management of the Government and Community Relations casework, to include internal and external referrals; general inquiries, and other correspondence and ensure the tracking and disposition of cases and facilitation of timely responses. Input and maintain accurate records and data within organizational electronic-tracking system (e.g., Salesforce, Quorum, Cvent). Speak to diverse audiences about all WWP programs and services. Develop community support for WWP. Present WWP vision and values to the community, communicating the benefits of WWP programs and services, and inspire them to become involved with and support the WWP vision. Collaborate in the development and execution of WWP initiatives such as WWP's Annual Warrior Survey rollout, Soldier Ride DC, and the WWP Project Advocacy Newsletter. Represent WWP as necessary at key events, meetings, discussions, hearings, conferences, or as directed by the VP of Government and Community Relations. Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of WWP's legislative priorities, military service organization (MSO) and veteran service organization (VSO) community priorities. Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles. Other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom), and other information tracking and management systems (e.g., Salesforce). EXPERIENCE Requirements Three years of experience grassroots outreach and development, preferably involving veteran issues. Five years of relationship-building experience with military organizations, veterans associations, regional non-profit organizations, community partnerships, or similar targeted constituents. Five years of staff or volunteer management experience. Three years of experience leading geographically dispersed teams. Two years of legislative, advocacy, and policy experience, preferably in a government or non-profit organization. Preferences Five years of military experience or working with veterans or military service organizations. Three years of experience organizing grassroots or community outreach campaigns. Three years of experience working with a non-profit organization. Experience assisting individuals in crafting personal stories about potentially sensitive subjects. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Complex Case Coordination (C3) Liaison responds to crisis referrals of warriors, performs initial assessments, guides warriors towards appropriate internal WWP resources or arranges external resources, acts as a case manager for treatment planning and stabilization, and eliminates barriers to care as appropriate. The Complex Case Coordination (C3) Liaison serves as an advocate to ensure rapid, coordinated, and collaborative response to warriors with difficult, complex, urgent issues that exceed the current capability or scope of any specific WWP program. The liaison coordinates and advocates with local resources, Federal resources (i.e., Veterans Administration, Dept of Defense, etc.), Veteran Service Organizations, and private facilities to establish an effective and comprehensive plan for the Warrior.
