    Position Overview

    World Services LLC is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer will design, implement, and optimize secure CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and compliant software delivery for NAVAIR systems. This role supports hands-on engineering execution while contributing to change enablement and DevSecOps transformation efforts.

     

    This position requires onsite support at various U.S. Navy and NAVAIR locations, depending on program needs. Candidates should expect to work in secure government environments and collaborate directly with program offices, engineering teams, and mission stakeholders. While some limited flexibility may be available, this role is primarily onsite to ensure effective coordination, security compliance, and hands-on support of DevSecOps transformation efforts within operational Navy environments.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    CI/CD Pipeline Development

    · Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment

    · Implement Git-based version control and branching strategies

    · Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules to support environment provisioning

    · Enable automated testing and validation processes across environments

     

    Security & Compliance Integration

    · Integrate static and dynamic security scanning tools into pipelines

    · Support continuous monitoring and vulnerability remediation

    · Ensure alignment with RMF, NIST 800-53, and ATO requirements

    · Automate compliance checks and reporting within CI/CD workflows

     

    Automation & Tooling

    · Configure and manage DevSecOps toolchains (e.g., Git, Terraform, Docker, SonarQube, Azure DevOps)

    · Implement containerization and orchestration solutions

    · Develop scripts and automation to improve deployment speed and reliability

    · Support environment validation for CI/CD readiness

     

    Performance Monitoring & Optimization

    · Monitor pipeline performance, reliability, and deployment success rates

    · Track KPIs such as throughput, quality, and compliance metrics

    · Support continuous improvement through feedback loops and retrospectives

    · Optimize pipeline efficiency and reduce deployment risks

     

    Collaboration & Change Enablement

    · Work closely with Solutions Architects, QA/Test, Cybersecurity, and Program teams

    · Support adoption of DevSecOps practices across development teams

    · Assist in training and enablement of personnel transitioning to CI/CD models

    · Contribute to documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures

     

    Qualifications

    · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

    · 8–12+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps engineering

    · Strong hands-on experience with:

    · CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)

    · IaC tools (Terraform preferred)

    · Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

    · Experience integrating security into pipelines (DevSecOps practices)

    · Familiarity with DoD environments and compliance requirements

    · Active Secret clearance (or higher)

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience supporting NAVAIR or Navy systems

    · Familiarity with Team Managed Deployment (TMD) model

    · Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)

    Key Responsibilities

     

    Architecture & Strategy

    ·         Design end-to-end DevSecOps and CI/CD architectures for Navy aviation systems

    ·         Define transition roadmap from manual change management to automated pipelines

    ·         Establish system architecture aligned with DoD/Navy compliance frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53)

    ·         Lead development of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and cloud-native architecture strategies

    ·         Advise on system integration across legacy and modernized environments

     

    ATO & Security Integration

    ·         Architect CI/CD pipelines that support continuous ATO (cATO) objectives

    ·         Ensure security is embedded across pipeline stages (static/dynamic scans, compliance checks)

    ·         Collaborate with cybersecurity stakeholders to align with RMF accreditation processes

    ·         Define traceability, auditability, and compliance automation within pipelines

     

    Change Management & Enablement

    ·         Develop frameworks for organizational transition to DevSecOps operating models

    ·         Guide program offices on adoption of automated delivery and release practices

    ·         Establish governance models for pipeline usage, approvals, and release controls

    ·         Drive cultural shift from manual to automated, low-risk, continuous deployments

     

    Stakeholder Engagement

    ·         Serve as senior technical advisor to NAVAIR leadership and program offices

    ·         Lead workshops, architecture reviews, and technical briefings

    ·         Translate mission needs into scalable technical solutions

    ·         Coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, QA, and program management teams

     

    Qualifications

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)

    ·         12+ years of experience in systems architecture, cloud, or DevSecOps environments

    ·         Demonstrated experience supporting DoD/Navy programs (NAVAIR preferred)

    ·         Deep knowledge of:

    ·         CI/CD tools (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)

    ·         IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)

    ·         Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

    ·         Strong understanding of RMF, ATO, and DoD cybersecurity requirements

    POSITION SUMMARY

    World Services LLC, an IT engineering, solutions, and management consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect / Technical Lead Architect to senior Solutions Architect / Technical Lead to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, cloud-based digital services in a federal environment. This role partners across engineering, product, security, QA, and business stakeholders to translate mission needs into architecture, delivery patterns, and implementation guidance.

    The ideal candidate brings deep AWS architecture expertise, strong CI/CD and DevSecOps leadership, and hands-on experience with document-centric intake and workflow solutions, including PDF and form-driven submissions, metadata-driven processing, and organization/entity/account-linking capabilities. This individual must be comfortable leading distributed teams in a remote setting while driving technical rigor, release discipline, and delivery outcomes.

    The Architect provides leadership across application architecture, CI/CD practices, testing discipline, and engineering governance, ensuring that systems are designed, built, and deployed as cohesive, secure, and operationally reliable products aligned with client delivery standards.

    This role plays a critical leadership function in strengthening engineering governance, improving release traceability, and ensuring architectural coherence across teams, addressing key findings identified in the program’s recent delivery assessment. The Architect establishes and enforces architecture standards, promotes traceable decision-making, ensures that delivery pipelines and release practices are transparent and auditable, and guides engineering teams in implementing scalable and sustainable solutions.

    Acting as the program’s technical authority and escalation point for complex architectural issues, this role balances delivery velocity with quality, security, and operational assurance.
