Whiting's Wallpaper & Paints, a locally owned paint store specializing in Benjamin Moore paints and Hunter Douglas window treatments, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team.
About the Role
As a Sales Associate, you'll be the face of our store — helping homeowners and contractors find the right products for their projects, mixing and tinting paint to exact specifications, and keeping our store running smoothly day to day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in home improvement, and wants to build product knowledge in a hands-on retail environment. No prior paint experience? No problem — we provide full training.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers, providing knowledgeable guidance on Benjamin Moore paint products, finishes, and Hunter Douglas window treatmentsAccurately tint and mix paint to customer specificationsUnload and stock incoming shipments, and maintain organized, well-presented sales floor and stockroomOperate the point-of-sale system and process transactionsBuild and maintain relationships with both retail customers and professional contractorsIdentify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and servicesAnswer questions about product application, coverage, and recommendationsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized store environmentAssist with inventory counts and restocking as neededQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's license requiredStrong customer service and communication skillsSales-minded approach with a genuine desire to help customers succeed with their projectsAbility to lift and unload boxes/paint cans (up to 50 lbs)Comfortable using computers/POS systems — no prior tinting experience needed, we'll train youReliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a teamNice to Have
