    Primary Job Duties:

    GENERAL PURPOSE : Prepare and produce orders on Indigo printing press to meet the requirement of external clients, internal converting customers, and internal rewinding/inspection customers while meeting production and quantity goals of department. Perform preventative and routine equipment maintenance.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Prepares and produces orders on Indigo print press. Ensures Indigo printed color matches intended color; makes correct press adjustments and/or communicates to prepress what adjustments are required to successfully match colors to samples as needed. Assesses multiple proofing options and compares with Indigo printing results. Trouble-shoots challenging orders/projects. Interacts with, die-cutters, prepress, rewinders, folder gluers, and planners. Follows published schedule. Maintains equipment, cleanliness and organization of department. Understands and prepares paperwork related to order/project. Lifts and maneuvers product weighing as much as 75 pounds.     QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass Indigo qualification test and annual recertification test. Must demonstrate understanding of department and company documentation, including policies and procedures. Assesses multiple proofing options and compares with Indigo printing results. Trouble-shoots challenging orders/projects. Interacts with, die-cutters, prepress, rewinders, folder gluers, and planners. Follows published schedule. Maintains equipment, cleanliness and organization of department. Understands and prepares paperwork related to order/project. Lifts and maneuvers product weighing as much as 75 pounds. Logs in and out of shift - documenting the Indigo impression meter count each day. Moves stock/substrates to and from Indigo presses. Contacts HP/ Tresu for assistance when appropriate. Coats printed product to meet customer requirements as needed. Performs other job duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass Indigo qualification test and annual recertification test. Must demonstrate understanding of department and company documentation, including policies and procedures. Must demonstrate understanding of material options and their impact on results. Must demonstrate understanding department workflow and production methods. Must demonstrate ability to perform the preventive maintenance required on Indigo press. Must be able to perform arithmetic including fractions, ratios, and decimals. Must be able to troubleshoot machine mechanical issues. Must demonstrate understanding of color relationships (theory). Must be proficient in use of Outlook email, Word, and Excel software. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, suppliers, and clients.     ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Sets up feeder, feed table, lock dies, internal stripper, blanker section, and operates flatbed die cutter. Performs preventive maintenance, including minor repairs, adjusting/modifying dies, and the use of matrix when necessary. Uses pre-make-ready tables. Nicks and prepares dies. Levels the cutting by using different thickness spotting tapes. Performs quality checks, approvals, and in process inspections. Prepares loads, loads material, and removes loads of material from the machine. Maintains die inventory. Trains assistants. Performs other job duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must be able to use pre-make ready table. Four years' experience operating flatbed die cutter (Bobst, Iijima, Heidelberg, Sanwa, etc) or similar equipment preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of size and location when beginning the nicking process. Demonstrates ability to recognize common packaging defects (cracking, sharpness, heavy scores, line-up, tearing, flat scores, one-sided scores, light cutting, loose fibers, pressure marks, etc.). Experience running board stock and paper on flatbed die cutters. Demonstrates ability to use rulers, calipers, micrometers and other inspection equipment. Demonstrates ability to use samples and materials, such as vinyls, spinjets and approved samples, to verify job accuracy and quality. Demonstrates ability to make a spotting sheet. Demonstrates ability to make stripping boards. Demonstrates knowledge of when and what type of rubber or cork to use. Demonstrates knowledge of how to use benders, bridgers, miters and cutters for reknifing. Demonstrates knowledge of adjustment process for tonnage on cutting. Demonstrates knowledge of when to use underlay or begin spotting. Demonstrates knowledge of operating the cube/manual tonnage. Demonstrates knowledge of 1mm counter plates. Demonstrates knowledge of using register pins for counters. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to repair dies by modifying creasing rules and cutting knives. Demonstrates knowledge of blind make-readies and what it entails. Demonstrates knowledge of counter plates, matrix, spotting tape, and underlaying. Must have basic personal computer skills including experience with e-mail and word processing. Must be able to meet the minimum requirement on a mechanical test.     The responsibilities of the Instrumentation Journeyman will include but not limited to the following: Industrial Instrumentation plant maintenance to include preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting plant equipment. The ability to read and understand electrical schematics, loop sheets, process and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment manuals. The ability to understand and troubleshoot various forms of control logic, such as ladder logic, and function block diagrams. The ability to use and understand various types of test equipment such as calibration equipment, digital multi-meters, megohmmeters, and HART communicators. Must possess a working knowledge of electrical safety precautions and procedures, for example, LOTO, NFPA-70E. The Ability to work rotating shifts (southern swing) Perform duties as part of the Incident Response Team and participate as a fire brigade member. What you need to succeed: Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Honeywell and Valmet DCS, experience setting up and calibrating control valves, experience setting up, calibrating, installing, and troubleshooting control instrumentation.
