    Our Food Service Packaging plant in Knox, IN, is seeking a Laminator Operator who will be an integral part of the Knox team supporting the laminators. Location: Knox, IN (6595 Highway 10, Knox, IN 46534) Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4 pm - 2 am CST, must be flexible to work overtime (during the week and/or weekend shifts) Pay: $19.85/hour, plus $0.50/hour shift differential.

    SUMMARY : The Laminator Assistants are responsible for the safe manufacturing of laminated board for all products as needed for the facility by performing the following key responsibilities.

    How you will impact Smurfit WestRock: Read, interpret, and understand all job Jackets, Spec Sheets, skid tags and product load tags. Ensure all paperwork and system transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain full compliance of all GMPs. Maintain housekeeping excellence in accordance with NSF/GMP Housekeeping standards. Follow all safety procedures and promote safety & safety programs throughout the facility. Perform all required customer and departmental quality checks. Participate and ensure department is compliant with NSF/GMP audit regulations. Ability to safely operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, and perform duties as assigned. Ability to work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull >100lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift. Ability to read a tape measure (to 1/32" measurement, do basic math, and some computer skills). General mechanical aptitude & trouble shooting skills. Ability to perform complete make ready and shut down. Understanding of Quality Inspection Criteria Product Identification and Labeling Use of PDE system Maintain Waste and Efficiency standards What you need to succeed: Ability to covert basic math and read a tape measure.     The Technical Trainer assists with training processes locally. The role reports into the site General Manager/ Plant Manager and dotted lines into Operations Learning & Development, to ensure training is completed for Operator/ Craft Job Certification. The role will be a key contact/ trainer for team members and be responsible for teammate assessments regarding machine skills - providing feedback, machine certification responsibility, and conducting assessments related to line of progression movements.

    Major Job Responsibilities: Completes daily technical training on the floor to assist with the Certification of team members in their roles. Partners with OPS L&D leader to support New Hire Orientation/ On Boarding Training, as needed. Assists with tracking, evaluating, and measuring training locally using the company's Dept. Training Standards & Learning System tools. Supports site specific technical learning solution creation (SOP's, Guided Workflows, Technical Learning Aids - to assist with training) Develops, builds, and maintains relationships with trainees & leaders in their role. Participates in new teammate hiring process - assesses candidates' skills (general and/ or machine, involved in interview process to assess industrial experience, and provides perspective on hiring decisions) Conducts training on all shifts. Influences others to be safety-minded. Team member will be certified through a Train the Trainer process, support managing day to day Certification Processes & will be supported by Ops L&D with training tools & general knowledge content.
