    The Opportunity:

    We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician at our folding carton plant in Claremont, NC. The main function of the Maintenance Tech is to manage the electrical and mechanical maintenance of our manufacturing machinery. Pay is commensurate with experience. Our current shift schedule is 3 12-hour shifts with rotation being 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. Essential Responsibilities are as follows: Assume the role and responsibilities of all Claremont Plant equipment working in a safe and efficient manner Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical breakdowns as well as pneumatic, hydraulic, and general building maintenance Install new and upgrade equipment as needed Troubleshoot and repair all equipment to keep production going in a timely manner Assist with inventory to identify parts and new parts to prevent minimum breakdown or machine downtime Performs preventive and operational maintenance to ensure a functional and safe environment Maintain records utilizing the computer of all work completed, time spent, and materials used Must be able to lift 50 lbs. when completing various tasks.

    What you need to succeed: 2+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience. Have a safe work history and perform safe work habits. Possess good written and verbal communication skills. Be a self-starter and a team-oriented employee Have knowledge of general machine shop equipment (welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipefitting, air compressors, fire protection, and automation) Both Mechanical and Electrical experience. PLC troubleshooting experience a plus

    The Opportunity:

    We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician at our folding carton plant in Conover, NC. Responsibilities for this role include the following: Perform general mechanical maintenance of facility and equipment in a timely and courteous manner. Performs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance of manufacturing equipment (i.e. printing presses, folding machines, etc.). Repairs and maintains facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and humidification). Paints and performs minor repairs of building interior and exterior including masonry, wallboard, ceiling tiles, woodwork, etc. Uses rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments accurately. Performs basic handiwork such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, water and air filters, and plumbing fixtures, cleaning drains, hanging pictures and bulletin boards, and maintaining proper forklift batteries. Prepares and operates machine tools such as grinders, and drill presses to repair machine parts and/or fixtures. Troubleshoots electric and electronic problems. Performs inspections of and tests fire alarms and pumps. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical components including bindery equipment (folder roller changes, transport belts, bearings, drive motors) and presses. Troubleshoots and repairs PLC's. Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors and any other systems in the plant. Checks new and refurbished parts for the proper specs. Performs preventative maintenance. Performs machine modifications to improve production as needed. Works on call as required. Builds custom parts on demand. Maintains accurate maintenance records. Operates scissors. Understands and respects responsibilities of working in an SOP and cGMP environment. Performs other job duties as assigned. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Follow all WestRock Core Values and Behaviors. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical breakdowns as well as pneumatic, hydraulic and general building maintenance Maintain equipment in both pro-active and breakdown environment Communicate with all levels of associates Maintain/complete paperwork and computer system as assigned

    What you need to succeed: Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. Must have training/certification in machine-specific and electronics fields. Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical component repair. Ability to properly use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrument. Working knowledge of AC/DC motors. Trained in basic electric and mechanical safety. Basic computer experience. Knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools. Knowledgeable in the use of blue prints and schematics. Ability to work on-call as needed. Must have acute troubleshooting skills. Must be able to maintain good attendance. Willing to work overtime as needed. Ability to work independently and use independent judgment. Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Safety: Required- PPE must be worn while on your job. At a minimum, safety glasses, safety toe shoes and hearing protection are required in the facility. Additional PPE may apply dependent on task. Required- All safety policies, guid elines and authorities must be followed. Required - Comply with safety participation program.

    Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

    Pay Range: $27.41 - $32.65 based on skill level.

    Shift: Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm OR Friday-Monday 6am-4pm

    Position Responsibilities :

    Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment. Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements. Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.     Position Requirements:

    Must be educationally certified through a tech or trade school beyond High School Must be highly safety conscious. Proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas. A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes. Willing to work any shift and overtime as required. Computer experience/operation and PLC programming are necessary. High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.     The Opportunity:

    As an Electrical Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for supporting the operation of a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate must be able to conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Must be able to apply knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restore in all areas of Manufacturing.
