The opportunity:
Electrical Maintenance Technician: Primary duties include providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with hydraulics, steam systems and pneumatics and have troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.

What you need to succeed:
• Trouble shooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level
• An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes: motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
• A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiar with steam generating systems and safety compliance
• Able to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives
• PLC trouble shooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical & electrical aptitude.
• Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of power transmission equipment and bearings.
• Basic welding skills preferred but not required.
• Familiar with pumps, both air and electric.
• Able to install and trouble shoot basic 3 phase motor control circuits
• Some knowledge of the various types of sensors and limit switches
• Familiar with computers and Microsoft software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime
• High school diploma or equivalent Military training and or Technical School preferred

The starting rate is $45.43 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 5 days of paid vacation, and 9 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Union Plant. Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
Training will take place during day time hours.
Overtime : Must be flexible to work Saturday overtime
REQUIRED SKILLSET:
Strong Electrical Background (Minimum 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment):
Competent with European and US electrical schematics DC & AC motor/drive troubleshooting PLC troubleshooting / programming Experienced with Servo Motor Controls (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise in a manufacturing setting (5-7 years required)
Responsibilities:
Performs minor and major repair of all equipment. Maintains and repairs a variety of hand and power tools ensuring they are in safe and efficient working order. Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts. May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems. Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment to assure optimum performance of that production process. Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager or another member of the leadership team. BASIC PURPOSE & SCOPE :
The purpose of this position is to maintain operational equipment within OEM standards and where repairs are required, to bring the equipment back to within those standards. This is a "continuous run" environment that requires flexibility in work hours, shifts, and responsibilities adapting to Smurfit Westrock needs as required and within the confines of the CBA.
The scope of the position is limited to the immediate building and grounds of the Ravenna plant, its equipment, and all operations including the roof and unattached storage shed, and any/all other locations directed by Smurfit Westrock Management.

GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform general mechanical maintenance of facility and equipment in a timely and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance of manufacturing equipment (i.e. printing presses, folding machines, etc.). Repairs and maintains facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and humidification). Paints and performs minor repairs of building interior and exterior including masonry, wallboard, ceiling tiles, woodwork, etc. Uses rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments accurately. Performs basic handiwork such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, water and air filters, and plumbing fixtures, cleaning drains, hanging pictures and bulletin boards, and maintaining proper forklift batteries. Prepares and operates machine tools such as grinders, and drill presses to repair machine parts and/or fixtures. Troubleshoots electric and electronic problems. Performs inspections of and tests fire alarms and pumps. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical components including bindery equipment (folder roller changes, transport belts, bearings, drive motors) and presses. Troubleshoots and repairs PLC's. Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors and any other systems in the plant. Checks new and refurbished parts for the proper specs. Performs preventative maintenance. Performs machine modifications to improve production as needed. Works on call as required. Builds custom parts on demand. Maintains accurate maintenance records. Operates scissors. Understands and respects responsibilities of working in an SOP and cGMP environment. Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Training or certification in machine specific systems and electronics. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical component repair. Ability to properly use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Working knowledge of AC/DC motors. Training in basic electrical and mechanical safety. Basic computer proficiency. Knowledgeable in the safe use of hand tools and small power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Availability to work on call as needed. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Willingness to work overtime when required. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
