    The Student Accommodations Specialist will oversee the process of students applying for ADA accommodations, reviewing assessment documentation and making reasonable accommodations as provided by the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Student Accommodations Specialist will work under the supervision of the Dean of Students and assist the functioning and events of the Student Life Office as well as facilitate workshops for students, faculty and staff to keep them informed on pertinent ADA changes or updates. This employee will attend faculty and staff division meetings as requested for similar informational purposes and will act as a community liaison for students with disabilities.

    STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS SPECIALIST PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Organize, assess, and issue accommodations for students with disabilities including but not limited to academic, housing assignments, meal plans, and emotional support animals. 2. Ensure that the interactive process occurs with faculty and staff when considering accommodations in academic courses, or in other support services across the campus. 3. Provide intake for students and families and educate them regarding disability services at an institution of higher education. 4. Review highly sensitive and confidential educational, mental, and physical health records to determine ADA/504/FHA accommodation eligibility. Interpret documentation as related to accommodations and work collaboratively with students to identify appropriate and reasonable accommodations. 5. Address student, faculty and staff assistive technology needs including testing processes, note taking services, design for hearing impairments, alternative format textbooks and other needs as identified. 6. Utilize knowledge of community resources to make appropriate referrals to outside agencies to assist students in obtaining necessary supports and services including disability documentation, securing services, and access to health care. 7. Facilitate regular accessibility compliance meetings regarding services for students. 8. Act as a resource to identify and address accessibility-related barriers for students and identify appropriate resources to ensure ADA compliance. 9. Establish and maintain strong working relationship with the campus community to facilitate accommodations and ADA compliance regarding accessibility and disability services. Educate and act as a resource for faculty, staff, and students regarding ADA/504/FHA accessibility obligations through individual meetings, workshops, and trainings as needed. 10. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with service area high schools. Assists with special education group tours and understands available on-campus resources available to students. 11. Maintain the confidentiality of the database and case notes via the online case management system keeping with federal and state laws and college policy. 12. Serve as a member of Western's Behavior Intervention Team. 13. Keep abreast of subjects related to accessibility by attending trainings, conferences, seminars and workshops, and by reading appropriate professional literature. 14. Update and maintain current ADA/504/FHA policies, procedures, and practices. 15. Other duties as required. These duties include but are not limited to: Provide customer service for all who come into the Student Life Office. Participate in student orientations, engagement events, and general education efforts through the Student Life Office.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS SPECIALIST MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Special Education or similar subject. 2. One (1) - Two (2) years' work-related experience working with ADA accommodations, special populations or related field. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 4. Working knowledge of computer applications, specifically database and spreadsheet software. 5. Experienced in developing marketing tools and program promotion strategies.
    Equivalency Statement For those candidates who do not exactly meet all the minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of education and experience, which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities, may be acceptable.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS SPECIALIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS(Knowledge, Abilities, Education and Experience) 1. Master's or higher degree in Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Higher Education Student Affairs, or related field. 2. One or more years of disability-related experience. 3. Demonstrated knowledge, training, or experience in State and Federal laws related to Disability rights: Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508, ADAAA, Fair Housing Act, and their application to higher education.

    The Western Student Success Coach serves as a holistic support system, addressing the diverse needs of students and promoting their overall well-being and success throughout their academic journey. The position aims to create an environment where applicants and current students can excel academically and personally. Student Success Coaches provide Western students with academic, athletic, transfer, career, and general advising, along with academic tools and resources to reach their academic goals.

    A Western Student Success Coach specializes in two or more areas focusing on data communication, event planning, career advising, transfer advising, student-athlete advising, academic interventions, program-specific advising, or other areas set by the Director of Advising.
    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, in addition to travel.

    STUDENT SUCCESS COACH PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


    1. Academic Advising and Transition Support
    a. Introduce students to the institution's culture, values, and educational philosophy.
    b. Work directly with students to confirm that all official transcripts have been evaluated, and that required admission documents including test scores have been received and processed.
    c. Conduct initial advising appointments by explaining program requirements, assisting with course selection, and developing realistic academic plans.
    d. Monitor student academic progress and intervene proactively when academic challenges arise.
    e. Design and implement a comprehensive transition plan that ensures a smooth handoff from Success Coach to faculty advisor prior to the following semester's registration period.
    f. Develop and execute clear communication strategies that introduce students to their assigned faculty advisors during their application start-term semester.

    2. Resource Navigation and Student Support

    a. Direct students to relevant campus resources, such as wellbeing and accessibility services, tutoring services, libraries, and career counseling.
    b. Familiarize students with MyWestern, Self-Service, Canvas, and tools used for coursework and communication.

    3. Goal Setting and Academic Development
    a. Collaborate with students to establish short-term and long-term academic, personal, and career goals, and develop individualized action plans with clear milestones, timelines, and accountability measures.
    b. Provide coaching in time management, effective study strategies, and personal development, while supporting students in managing academic stress, balancing competing demands, and maintaining overall well-being.

    4. Communication and Student Engagement
    a. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with students through individual meetings, email, phone, and virtual platforms.
    b. Adapt communication styles to meet the diverse needs and preferences of individual students.
    c. Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and motivation to promote student confidence and persistence.

    5. Problem Resolution and Advocacy
    a. Identify, address, and resolve issues encountered by applicants and current students throughout their academic journey.
    b. Serve as a liaison and advocate between students, faculty, and campus support services as needed.

    6. Graduation and Completion Planning
    a. Guide students through meeting graduation requirements.

    7. Career Exploration and Counseling
    a. Assist students with career exploration and goal alignment, helping them connect academic programs to future career pathways.
    b. Provide guidance on internships, job search strategies, resume development, and professional networking, including career and transfer transition planning.

    8. Continuous Improvement and Professional Awareness
    a. Collect and analyze student feedback to enhance coaching strategies and services.
    b. Stay current on program requirements, institutional policies, and industry trends affecting student and student-athlete success.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Plan, organize, and execute successful events that promote student engagement and positive experiences.
    2. Deliver effective presentations tailored to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
    3. Travel and actively participate in registration, retention, outreach, and community engagement activities.
    4. Build and sustain a comprehensive student support network through active collaboration with faculty, outreach advisors, and campus partners.
    5. Encourage interdisciplinary and cross-departmental partnerships to provide holistic student support.
    6. Collaborate with faculty, student services, financial aid, admissions, K-12 partners, employers, and community stakeholders to support enrollment growth, retention, and academic attainment.
    7. Serve as a community resource by presenting to groups, responding to inquiries, assisting with research projects, workshops, and outreach activities.
    8. Develop specialized expertise in designated focus areas such as transfer advising, career coaching, student-athlete advising, or academic intervention strategies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education and Experience
    1. Bachelor's degree in business, communication, counseling, education,
    psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

    3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences.

    6. Ability to obtain and maintain a Wyoming Class "C" driver's license and be covered under the College's automobile insurance carrier.

    INSTRUCTOR OF POWERLINE TECHNOLOGY PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides quality instruction to students in assigned courses in Electric power principles, Lineworker safety, Industry standards, Fall protection, Confined spaces, Emergency response, Measuring equipment, Rigging, Overhead/ underground cable installations, and CDL training.

    2. Provides quality learning experiences both in the classroom and in the hands-on labs for all students enrolled while maintaining the integrity of the course's standards and objectives.

    3. States clear objectives and criteria for each course in the course syllabus; follows the Curriculum Committee's guidelines regarding course syllabi; integrates the appropriate College's learning goals into each course; evaluates students' performance and annually assesses student performance in light of these objectives and criteria.

    4. Teaches courses in a variety of environments and modes. Examples include teaching in the evening and weekends in Rock Springs; developing and teaching customized short courses tailored to the needs of local industry; teaching in the standard classroom, lab and through alternative methods, such as internet, or a combination of these methods.

    5. Advises students clearly and effectively; learns the requirements for Western graduation and for transfer to other regional colleges and universities.     12. Meets with local power industries both to identify their training needs and to update the powerline curriculum.

    13. Maintains and repairs lab/education training equipment and facilities; designs and builds training models as necessary.

    14. Maintains a reasonable schedule of office hours that allows on-campus and distance education students to interact and ask questions and that provided time to interact with colleagues, and complete other duties.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    INSTRUCTOR OF POWERLINE TECHNOLOGYMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Academic Credentials: • Journeyman Utility Lineman license and four (4) years of professional experience with powerline operations or powerline technologies. Related Degrees: • Electrical engineering, Substation, Powerline
    Equivalent Experience: • Associate's degree in powerline technology and four (4) years of professional experience with powerline operations or powerline technologies. OR • No degree but has eight (8) years of professional experience with powerline operations or powerline technologies.
