Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Power Electronics PCBA technician to support rapid prototyping, engineering builds and reworks. This role is hands-on and essential to ensuring the reliability and quality of our product. You will lead the deployment of the R&D lab processes and drive hands-on assembly, test and troubleshooting of new products and product variants through all phases of the engineering lifecycle. Your technical and timely feedback to the engineering team is pivotal to drive product improvements and advancements with specific attention to safety, quality and reliability. This role is versatile in nature and welcomes innovative, outside-of-the-box thinking to drive excellence in our products.
How You Will Contribute
• Perform precision rework of complex multi-layer PCBA's, including soldering and rework of fine-pitch components under microscope
• Support prototype builds for engineering teams, including board bring-up assistance and functional verification testing
• Use and maintain rework equipment including soldering irons, hot-air stations, microscopes and thermal tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineering, reliability, test and operations) to develop processes for prototype builds, test, failure mode identification and troubleshooting playbook through various experimental set-ups and systems
• Document learnings and failure modes, analyze data and communicate to cross-functional teams to drive product changes into future builds to track and to execute incremental improvements

Must Have Requirements
• Proven track-record of hands-on technical assembly, troubleshooting and diagnostic experience, specifically working directly with highly complex PCBA's and electronic assemblies
• Experience in teardown, diagnostic and troubleshooting of complex manufactured assemblies
• Familiarity and experience using hand tools, automated equipment or both for manufacturing of finished assemblies
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings for critical quality and assembly features to translate into execution
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and complete ownership of change management through various product iterations and experiments

The Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Assembly Technicians to join their Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations (AHMO) team. Unlike a traditional high-volume factory, this role focuses on rapid prototyping and low-volume assembly. You will work directly with engineers to bring new automotive hardware to life, facilitating quick design iterations for the future of transportation.

Core Responsibilities
Prototyping & Assembly: Accurately assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware, ranging from early engineering prototypes to short-run production.Engineering Support: Collaborate with engineers to optimize manufacturing processes and develop alternative assembly techniques to resolve design issues.Testing: Perform final product testing and troubleshooting in accordance with technical written procedures.Quality Assurance: Act as a "Quality Delegate," performing peer inspections on work completed by other technicians in the Engineering Lab.Tooling & Equipment: Utilize standard assembly tools (cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, torque tools) and lab equipment (power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes).Communication: Maintain clear, accurate documentation and communicate progress effectively with cross-functional development teams.Safety & Organization: Maintain a pristine, well-organized lab environment and adhere strictly to safety protocols.
Key Qualifications
Education & Experience: AS Degree with 1+ year of experience, or 3+ years of professional experience in electro-mechanical assembly.Technical Skills: * Proven experience with soldering and pin insertion/removal tools.Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and Blueprints.Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.Software: Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and general computer data entry.Soft Skills: Self-starter mentality with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including manufacturing, hardware engineering, reliability, test, and operations) to develop processes for prototype builds, test, failure mode identification and troubleshooting playbook through various experimental set-ups and systems
· Document learnings and failure modes, analyze data and communicate to cross-functional teams to drive product changes into future builds to track and to execute incremental improvements
· Support the bring-up, validation and troubleshooting of equipment, test systems, fixtures and specialized tooling used in assembly and verification processes
