Job Summary:
Wendler Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from award to closeout. This role demands exceptional technical expertise, attention to detail, leadership, and precision in managing resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and problem solver with a passion for excellence and a deep understanding of the construction lifecycle.
You'll play a key role in shaping the success of our self-performed and subcontracted work while helping Wendler Inc. uphold its industry-leading standards in safety, quality, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complete plan sets, specifications, and project manuals to gain a full understanding of project scope and deliverables.
Lead a seamless project handoff from the estimating team and VP of Project Management, ensuring alignment on scope, budget, and expectations.
Perform a comprehensive project buyout, acquiring competitive quotes and closing scope gaps while maximizing value and minimizing risk.
Define and assign clear scopes of work for all subcontractors and suppliers, eliminating duplication and ensuring total coverage of the contract requirements.
Negotiate contracts that protect Wendler Inc. and align with performance, safety, and delivery standards.
Identify self-perform opportunities and coordinate with internal operations for execution.
Manage all contractual documentation including purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and vendor commitments.
Oversee all project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and pay applications.
Proactively identify and resolve project discrepancies and conflicts through effective communication and documentation.
Develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules using Microsoft Project.
Lead communication with owners, designers, and engineers as required.
Collaborate with field operations to ensure alignment with schedule milestones, quality benchmarks, and budget expectations.
Maintain fiscal accountability through weekly reviews of labor, equipment, subcontractor billing, and vendor invoicing.
Represent Wendler Inc. in client meetings, progress updates, and coordination reviews.
Drive on-time, on-budget delivery across all phases of project execution.
Uphold and enforce Wendler Inc.'s rigorous safety protocols, especially in high-risk, safety-sensitive operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of experience and technical training).
Minimum of 3 years of progressive project management experience in commercial, civil, or heavy construction environments.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
Strong ability to analyze complex construction documents and extract actionable strategies.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews effectively.
Proficiency in project management software including Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
Strong understanding of cost control, risk mitigation, and contract management.
Excellent time management with a track record of meeting aggressive deadlines both internally and externally.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
