ABOUT THE ROLE This position will assist with the Capital Projects oversight of our National senior housing portfolio. This role is responsible for scope development, creating renovation/asset plans, and developing and underwriting budgets to maximize the value of our assets. This is a REMOTE role that must ideally reside in the Washington D.C. or surrounding area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Manages and executes daily on-site activities for multiple projects and leads project meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders at frequent intervals to discuss problems, progress, and scheduling of work. This individual will be the primary point of contact for all renovation activities. * Conducts frequent property inspections to ensure projects follow proper safety precautions, supervise the work of contractors, diagnoses, and troubleshoots problems as necessary, and ensures the physical integrity of the property. * Establishes expectations and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, free of any potential hazards for on-site staff and residents and work is being completed in conformance to Scope of Work and Contract Documents. * Lead project kick-off meetings and conduct final sign-off inspection with internal/external stakeholders. Ensures project close-out documents are in order and filed appropriately. * Prepare/update weekly/monthly project status reports to internal/external stakeholders, process invoices and change orders, and update construction progress schedules and trackers. * May participate in developing scopes of work, timelines, and other needs and parameters around the planning of a Redevelopment project. COMPENSATION Salaries may vary by location. The range for this role in the states of New Jersey and New York is $90,900 - $140,000 plus bonus. Final compensation determinations are made based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual experience, education, and skill level; business strategic priorities; primary office location; scope and anticipated strategic impact of the role. SUMMARY The Tax Accountant, Transactions will support the Company's tax function by preparing tax workpapers, assisting with transaction-related tax reporting, and supporting compliance activities. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, the Company's GAAP accountants, and third-party service providers to help ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax matters related to transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions (M&A). The position will also assist with tax research, documentation, and coordination of information to support return filings and other tax reporting requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules for federal, state, and local income tax returns. * Assist in setting up closed transactions in the Company's tax compliance software and systems for partnership and joint venture tax reporting, capital account maintenance, and income tax compliance. * Prepare analyses such as capital account reconciliations and income allocations related to transactions. * Assist with the preparation of estimated tax payments and computation of taxes due. * Support the preparation of corporate, partnership, and state income tax returns. * Help compile and maintain data for ERP system builds as they relate to tax methods and reporting. * Assist in reviewing changes to the Company's legal entity structure to determine tax filing requirements, including those from M&A activity. * Perform tax research to support transaction-related compliance and documentation. * Perform other duties as assigned. ABOUT THE ROLE This position will be responsible for overseeing multiple complex senior housing capital projects throughout the Southern California market. You will manage approximately 3-5 projects at any given time (dependent on project scope and complexity) and will participate in oversight of contractors, construction schedules, and providing status reports and communication to internal and external project stakeholders. This is a REMOTE role that must reside in or near Southern Orange County or Northern San Diego County. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Manages and executes daily on-site activities for multiple projects, coordinate and participates in project meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders at frequent intervals to discuss problems, progress, and scheduling of work. This individual will be the primary point of contact for all renovation activities. * Conducts frequent property inspections to ensure projects follow proper safety precautions, supervises the work of contractors, escalates potential risks and issues as necessary, and ensures the physical integrity of the property. * Establishes expectations and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, free of any potential hazards for on-site staff and residents and work is being completed in conformance to Scope of Work and Contract Documents. * Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings. * Ensures project close-out documents are in order and filed appropriately. * Prepare/update weekly project status reports to internal/external stakeholders, and update construction progress schedules and trackers. * Providing administrative support and other assigned tasks as needed.
