    Paralegal/Legal Assistant

    Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced defense litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant in our Coral Gables Office.  The individual will be responsible for supporting a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close.


    Responsibilities:

    Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.Daily time entry billing requirements.Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information.Trial preparation – such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files.Manage court docket calendar.Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.Additional duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support.Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization.Experience and knowledge of the FL court system and rules. Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus.Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records. Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.Ability to work 4 days/week from our Coral Gables office

    Weber Gallagher has an immediate attorney opening for a NY licensed senior trial partner to join its General Liability litigation group as a non-equity partner. Our New York practice has experienced exponential growth over the last year, and we are searching for another great addition to our team! The position involves handling a broad range of General Liability litigation matters including personal injury, motor vehicle, property damage, construction and labor law, and product liability. 3rd-party insurance coverage experience is a plus. The successful candidate will have no less than fifteen years of experience handling General Liability litigation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to develop and maintain a good relationship with clients. The successful candidate must have significant first chair trial experience and be willing to try cases on behalf of the firm’s clients. This Partner will also be required to manage a significant book of business as they will be considered as a possible long-term successor to current partners. Weber Gallagher’s NY offices operate on a hybrid basis. A weekly regular presence in either our Garden City or NYC/Manhattan office is required.
