    I. Job Summary

    Plans, directs and controls the efforts of the second shift Maintenance Department at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices.

    II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Manages the preventive maintenance program and maintenance of equipment and facilities.Develops, maintains and administers an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition. Executes an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time.Maintains all operating equipment in satisfactory condition. Schedules needed repair to have minimum interference.Consults with other departments regarding desirable modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment which will improve operations and reduce maintenance costs.May coordinates the efficient operation of facilities with project engineers.Coordinates and oversees the efficient maintenance of all plant transportation equipment.Analyzes cost studies equipment in the department designed to secure reduced operating costs. Makes recommendations thereon to the Plant Manager.Develops objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department required to meet departmental, divisional and corporate goals and objectives.Plans and provides for an adequate supply and ensures control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.Provides leadership and maintenance training to MRF Maintenance TechniciansEnsures Preventative inspections and Corrective repairs meet or exceed the company standards

    I. Job Summary

    Senior, Mechanic Technician, you will work under limited supervision and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment. You will utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, vehicles, and systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Must have all required tools to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements of the job.

    II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members. Demonstrate high quality work, performed with limited repeat repairs and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). Demonstrate ability to aid and train other technicians in repairs and WM procedures and policies. Use time effectively, prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion. Document Work and Parts Usage: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks. Record parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings utilizing fleet maintenance software program. Test and Adjust Systems: Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality and alignment. Adjust settings, calibrate sensors, and perform fine-tuning as necessary to optimize performance and efficiency. Diagnose Mechanical Issues: Perform complex diagnostic tests to identify mechanical problems and malfunctions in vehicles, engines, and equipment. Use specialized tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues, and determine the most effective repair solutions, and initiate or assign repairs. Repair, Replace, or Rebuild Components: Conduct repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines to ensure quality repairs and optimal performance. Maintain Tools and Equipment: Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and shop facilities to ensure they are in good working condition. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe and efficient work environment. Provide Support: Collaborate with and instruct other technicians/mechanics to troubleshoot complex issues and share knowledge and expertise. Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior staff members as needed. Estimate time and material costs on repairs, and requisitions new parts, and communicate immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within SRTs. Inspects the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds. Assess structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s). Perform service calls and appropriate emergency breakdown repairs. Ability to adjust workload based on priority situations and the needs of the operation. In the absence of supervision may provide maintenance supervisory duties. Demonstrate the ability to increase skills to adjust to changing technology/equipment.

    3 years as a mechanic technician working on heavy equipment or similar role, preferably in a diesel, automotive, construction, or industrial setting and 3 years inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment and Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located and Valid Driver's License


    B. Preferred Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED (accredited) (CDL)-Class B and must have a clean driving record. If CDL is required, an applicant must be 21 years of age

    I. Job Summary

    Under direction of facility leadership, the Maintenance Technician Sr performs all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all buildings and grounds and all plant machinery and equipment.

    II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Performs all duties and tasks in accordance manufacturer and Stericycle procedures and with strict adherence to relative safety programs and standards including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, etc.Performs diagnostic evaluation on equipment and makes repairs when needed and is willing to be on-call and respond to urgent repairs. Ensures that repairs are performed properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.Performs routine, preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a variety of machinery within the plant including but not limited to:Autoclave process equipment/systems maintenance, including controls, Process Logic Controllers (PLC), combustion air blowers, pressure controls and conveyance systems.Air pollution control devices, air cooled condensers, spray condensers, recirculating systems, and carbon beds.Various Pumps and related components.Hydraulic systems including hoses, valves, and cylinders.pH control and chemical injectionFire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.Electrical generator systems.General air pneumatics, including air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way and 3-way valve, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and related systems.General plumbing including but not limited to hard piping, CPVC/PVC, copper, black pipe.Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment to include 480V/ 240V/ 120V/ 24V powers systems. PLC, robotics troubleshooting and 4 to 20 milliamp control loop systems.Light to heavy fabrication, demonstrating proficient welding (arc/mig/tig); acetylene torch; plasma cutting; grinding cuttings skills.Assists Facility/Maintenance Manager by performing general work or other assignments necessary to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility and vigorously support Stericycle's commitment to Safety.Documents results through completed work orders or in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) based on schedule and priority or as required.Performs other related duties as required or requested.Stays current on all required safety training.Shares time to be on-call and ready to complete emergency or urgent repairs outside of normally scheduled shift.Ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility and vigorously support Stericycle's commitment to Safety.Orders parts/supplies using computer-based procurement system.Responsible for inventory management of parts/supplies.Proficient using the following computer programs: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft ExcelPerform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


    III. Qualifications

    A. Required Qualifications

    High School Diploma or equivalent4 years of related experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify repairs that are needed and to assure scheduled production run is met.

    B. Preferred Qualifications
    - Use of forklifts, aerial-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities. 2+ years of experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify repairs that are needed and to assure scheduled production run is met. Must have experience with the performance of LOTO out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities. Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license is helpful. Demonstrates the ability to ask questions and gather information in order to identify problems and repair or arrange for repair of machine. Demonstrates the ability to think critically and remain calm during stressful situations. Capable of working collaboratively in teams and alone. Capable of providing feedback and participating in continuous improvement initiatives (Cause Analysis, Proactive solutions, threat detection, etc.) Demonstrates the ability to function independently and resolve problems without direction.
