    Heart of Florida Landfill , a Waste Connections site in Lake Panasoffkee, FL (Sumter County) has an immediate position open for a Maintenance Fuel Operator to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment machines. Individuals with 1+ years experience working on heavy diesel trucks or those that have completed a Diesel Technology program are encouraged to apply. Monday through Friday 40 to 50 hours a week and some Saturday work.Pay $21+ DOE Responsibilities include: Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Performs maintenance related work as required. Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. The ideal candidate will possess: Preferably 1+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech program or good attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic is a preferred quality. Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information. Proactively communicates with or responds to customers in support of Company pricing initiatives. Performs contractual re-signs by effectively building long term customer relationships and responsible for increasing customer profitability where appropriate. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the Companys available services, lines of business, pricing structures, and offers additional services as appropriate to assigned existing customers. Conduct waste stream analysis to include estimation of volumes and recognition of waste streams requiring special handling or which can be recycled or diverted.
