    Scott Waste Servcies, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a safety-focused Operations Supervisor to join our growing team in Bowling Green, KY. This is a fantastic opportunity for a natural leader with a background in logistics, transportation, or waste management operations who is ready to take the next step in their career.

    In this role, you'll supervise garbage truck drivers, oversee daily route operations, manage dispatch, and drive safety performance. You'll also be mentored and trained for potential future leadership roles within our organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supervise and support solid waste collection crews and route drivers

    Assign daily work schedules and adjust routes and staffing as needed

    Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and monthly safety meetings

    Monitor service quality and perform field inspections

    Investigate and resolve customer service issues related to waste collection

    Oversee the Dispatch Department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations

    Maintain up-to-date employee records and performance documentation

    Administer progressive discipline as needed, in line with company policy

    Complete quarterly performance reviews for all drivers

    Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in waste management, logistics, or transportation

    CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred or willingness to obtain

    Experience with route management, dispatch operations, or fleet supervision

    Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

    Willingness to relocate for promotion within the company (a plus)

    The Role: Assistant Controller

    As an Assistant Controller, you'll play a key role in driving financial performance and operational success. You'll partner closely with District Controllers and Operational Managers, providing insights, analysis, and leadership across multiple locations.

    This role is ideal for entrepreneurial accounting professionals who thrive in dynamic, unstructured environments and want to make a tangible impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead monthly financial close and prepare financial statements

    Reconcile general ledger accounts

    Analyze financial variances and prepare monthly forecasts

    Conduct rate reviews and financial modeling

    Communicate financial insights to operational teams

    Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

    Support annual budgeting and planning

    Train non-financial staff on financial processes and controls

    Collaborate with regulatory agencies as needed

    Travel and relocation opportunities available

    What You Bring

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BS/BA)

    1-3 years of accounting experience required

    2+ years in public accounting strongly preferred

    Experience with budgeting and forecasting

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    A proactive, analytical, and collaborative mindset

    A Day in the Life of an Operations Supervisor at a Landfill:

    • Assign and supervise work crews operating solid waste collection equipment.
    • Monitors progress of daily operations, reassigns employees, and makes staffing changes as necessary.
    • Helps develop and execute safety goals.
    • Conducts field inspections and audits of all site personnel to ensure proper work procedures.
    • Receives and reviews customer complaints regarding collection programs.
