Position Summary
The Shop Assistant performs the daily computer tasks that supports the tracking of all materials coming and going from the plant. This would include but not limited to producing Packing Slips, Fab packs, Bill of Lading, reviewing timesheets for proper coding, making delivery schedules and communicating with Project Managers for current schedules and production.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Shop Coordination
Manage daily office functions, including scheduling, documentation, and workflow coordinationMaintain organized records of projects Ensure proper filing systems are maintainedProcess incoming work orders from Project ManagersCoordinate with shop manager to track project timelines and delivery deadlinesAssist with scheduling production runs and deliveriesTrack materials, inventory levels, and purchase ordersSupport compliance with safety and quality standardsCompliance & Reporting
Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policiesQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)3+ years of office management experience (manufacturing or construction environment preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with job tracking system JobBoss is a plus but not required

Strong organizational and multitasking abilitiesExcellent communication Attention to detail and problem-solving mindsetAbility to prioritize in a fast-paced production environmentBasic understanding of metal fabrication processes (preferred but not required)
