Set up and run CNC Vertical Milling machines Perform contour milling, drilling, boring, and tapping Read blueprints and maintain tight tolerances Inspect your own work - quality is key Keep machines running smoothly and efficientlyWhat We're Looking for:
2+ years of CNC vertical mill setup and operation Solid blueprint reading skills Working knowledge of G & M codes Experience with materials such as steel, aluminum, cast iron and alloys High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 40 lbs. Interpret detailed engineering drawings, including material specs, heat treatment, and design elements Develop efficient, standardized CNC programs based on blueprints and routing sheets Create clear, organized programming documentation Collaborate with machinists and engineers to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and performanceWhat We're Looking for:
3+ years CNC Programming experience Proficiency with CAM software required (Surfcam preferred) Working knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling applications Veri-cut experience beneficial Advanced blueprint reading skills In depth knowledge of GD&T Solid understanding of engineering documentation Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of G&M codes Prior machining experience helpfulWhy WALCO?

WALCO Tool & Engineering is expanding its precision machining operations and requires a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to support uptime, reliability, and performance across its advanced CNC equipment. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring consistent production flow in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
At WALCO, machine reliability directly impacts customer delivery, quality, and performance-this role keeps production running.
The Work You'll Be Doing
In this hands-on role, you will:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines and machining centers Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce downtime Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Respond quickly to machine breakdowns to restore production Support general facility maintenance when required Work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams Ensure machines are operating safely, efficiently, and at peak performance Lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs as neededMachines, Systems & Equipment

5+ years of CNC machine maintenance experience Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Solid understanding of CNC machine operation and design Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Experience working with PLC and CNC-controlled equipment Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and pride in workmanshipPreferred
