Job Title: Electrical Project Manager
Location: Hubbard, TX
Job Summary
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and managing all electrical scopes required to deliver large-scale data center projects on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. This role provides leadership and serves as the primary liaison between the project team, electrical subcontractors, vendors, and the client. The Electrical PM leverages deep technical expertise in power distribution, critical systems, and data center infrastructure to drive efficient execution, resolve issues quickly, and uphold Yates’ standards of quality and safety.
Primary Duties
Lead and administer the project’s electrical safety programEnsure superintendents and field teams have the necessary electrical trades, materials, and equipment to execute work efficientlyOversee electrical subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to support schedule milestones and scope compliancePerform and oversee electrical QA/QC practices to ensure installation meets project specifications and Yates quality standardsComplete and communicate daily reports on scheduled activities, progress, and issues to all stakeholdersConduct regular site walk-throughs to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to standardsIdentify and resolve electrical field issues, design conflicts, and constructability challengesLead coordination meetings focused on electrical systems, sequencing, and labor planningRepresent the electrical scope during owner meetings and technical discussionsDevelop and maintain the electrical logistics plan in coordination with the General SuperintendentDevelop detailed scopes of work for electrical subcontractorsPerform constructability reviews with a focus on power distribution, grounding, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and critical infrastructureLead preconstruction meetings with electrical subcontractors prior to each phase of workTrack field progress against the plan and assist in developing recovery strategies when neededEnsure electrical quality control aligns with the project’s QA/QC programLead electrical close-out activities, including commissioning support, testing, and turnover documentationCoordinate electrical punch list items and ensure timely completionManage the electrical permit process and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standardsParticipate in strategic planning efforts, including VDC coordination for electrical systemsRefuse unsafe work and follow all Yates Safety Procedures and Work PracticesReport incidents, near hits, and hazardsWear and maintain required PPEParticipate in inspections, safety meetings, and required trainingSupport administration of the site safety program and ensure electrical trade partner compliance with OSHA and Yates requirementsProvide suggestions to improve safety and demonstrate a mature, proactive safety mindsetPerform additional tasks as assigned by Management to support successful project completion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferredEquivalent education, training, or experience may substitute for a degreeMinimum of five (5) years of construction management experience, preferably in electrical systemsExperience managing electrical scopes valued at $50MM+Experience implementing large-scale or complex safety plansPMP certification preferred
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS ProjectProven ability to organize and lead project teams to achieve project goalsEffective negotiation and contract management skillsExperience managing electrical cost reporting, including cash flow, safety, schedule, and VDC integrationExtensive knowledge of electrical construction, including medium-voltage distribution, critical power systems, and data center infrastructureUnderstanding of contract types, terms, general conditions, burn rates, and fee analysisFamiliarity with insurance programs such as SDI, BR policies, OCIP, and CCIP
