    Position - Construction Inspector

    Technical Responsibilities
     Must have prior experience and a comprehensive understanding in the inspection of pedestrian ramps (ADA curb ramps) and sidewalk reconstruction work.Read and interpret contract plans, standard details, specifications, and approved construction drawings.Verify the ramp layout, location, dimensions, elevations, grades, slopes, sidewalk transitions, and detectable warning surface installations to ensure compliance with project requirements.Conduct field measurements; document inspection findings; prepare daily reports and maintain accurate project records.Observe and inspect concrete placement, finishing, curing, joint construction, and other construction activities for compliance with contract documents.Inspect construction materials prior to installation; review certifications and laboratory reports; and perform material sampling and testing as required.Identify non-compliant work and coordinate with contractors, resident engineers, client representatives, and inspection management staff to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.Monitor the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic, pedestrian access, and site safety throughout construction activities.Strong written and oral communication skillsEducational Requirements and Experience/ Professional Licenses/Registrations
     Experience on pedestrian ramps projects for NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, or MTA.Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in construction inspection or NICET II or III Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction or equivalent.A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to and from project sites for site inspections.OSHA 10-hour certificationACI certification preferredVRX, Inc. is an award-winning woman owned civil engineering firm that has been in business since 2006.     General Qualities

    The bookkeeper position creates financial transactions and generates reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices.
