Mental Health Technician
Summary: Provide training and oversight for adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Monitor and document client behavior and activities; assist and participate with educational, social and recreational activities; provide a safe and therapeutic environment; interact in a warm and compassionate manner; de-escalate volatile situations, and promote client achievement of treatment plan goals and objectives. All job duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:
Responsible for monitoring behavior and activities of clients in the Supervised Independent Living Facility or Housing program.Report any concerns regarding the health, safety, or well-being of the clients to the appropriate authority.Utilize approved behavior modification techniques to help clients learn desirable behavior; provides positive reinforcement and support to clients.Provide clients with training or assistance with daily living skills. Assist in the planning and implementation of the client’s individual treatment plan; support client goals and encourage and assist the client in achieving these goals.Process admission and discharge of clients; introduce client to the facility or housing program; explain all rules, policies and procedures, and program orientation. Complete required program documentation; complete reports as required (daily, weekly, monthly, etc). Document client activities, behavior patterns, changes in behavior patterns, and reactions to medications daily. Collect and log clients’ currency and valuables upon request by client. Supervise clients with self-administered medications.Conduct security/safety checks; monitor visitors/clients for contraband. Perform general cleaning responsibilities such as laundry, mopping, garbage removal, cleaning showers and restrooms, vacuuming, dusting and sanitizing all hard surfaces.May be required to transport clients as needed. Summary
The Mental Health and Developmental Clinician partners with a Care Coordinator to support families referred to Child First. The Clinician uses Child Parent Psychotherapy, a relationship-based, dyadic, parent-child treatment model, which focuses on the primary attachment relationships of the young child. The Clinician engages with both the caregiver and child in a supportive, reflective, and exploratory manner which fosters a protective, nurturing, and responsive parent-child relationship. The Clinician’s therapeutic intervention focuses on 1) helping caregivers understand typical developmental challenges and expectations; 2) increasing caregivers’ ability to reflect on the meaning and feelings motivating a child’s behavior; 3) supporting caregivers’ problem solving; and 4) helping caregivers understand the psychodynamic relationship between parental feelings, history, and the caregiver response to the child. The Clinician also provides consultation to teachers in early care and education settings, as needed. Summary
Provide direct support to program individuals in the Supported Services Program
Essential Functions
Assist program individuals with implementation of comprehensive plans of careAssist and/or train individuals in performance of activities of daily livingPersonal hygieneLight housekeepingShopping etc. Empower individuals to develop leisure, social and employment skillsFollow all guidelines & procedures related to EZ Labor (clocking in & out, reviewing time cards, requesting edit sheets, etc.).Monitor and report program individual’s compliance with all physician orders (includingMedical and psychiatric)

Required Education and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, OR have 18 months of verifiable work experience in providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities or elderly. A valid driver’s license, vehicle in operating condition and vehicle insurance is also required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with heavier weight necessary at times. You are constantly required to stand; walk or occasionally climb stairs and use your hands and arms to reach objects. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. In addition, you will receive specialized training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). This training is provided to you so that you can effectively handle serious emotional and physical behavior that may be exhibited in dealing with the person(s) you will support. You must be physically and mentally able to effectively complete, pass, and execute the learned course material on the job.
