We are currently searching for an experienced CEI Senior Project Engineer to support our Gulf Region located in Brentwood or Nashville, TN.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, 10 years of experience in major road and bridge construction and TDOT experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Direct construction engineering administration and inspection project/programPlan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or review project specific policies, methods, practices, and proceduresReview programs for conformance with Client standardsIdentify and pursue future opportunitiesThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining an excellent professional relationship with those organizations to facilitate both the successful completion of current ongoing projects and the successful pursuit of follow-on assignmentsPreparing proposals and estimates for new projectsReviewing technical work and reports prepared by othersManaging projects so that schedules and budget are metPeriodic visits to construction or work sites to perform inspectionsWhat you need to have:
Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited programRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Tennessee is required10+ years of progressive experience in major road and bridge constructionTDOT experience and existing relationships required (Region 3 preferred)Previous experience managing projects and personnelMust have proven skills in meeting TDOT expectations, schedules, and budgetsProven leadership, communication, mentoring, and client liaison skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to support our Gulf Region located in Mississippi and/or Tennessee.
Candidates should be based in or open to relocating to Mississippi or Tennessee.
What you’ll be doing:
Provide plan review and project management for DOT and local municipal projectsCoordinate project activities, schedules, and reporting for assigned workPrepare, issue, and track project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and client approvalsDevelop correspondence and documentation for clients, vendors, and regulatory agenciesSupport project financial processes, including invoices and purchase ordersPrepare and edit meeting minutes, reports, and presentationsAssist with project submittals and bidding activitiesProvide technical and administrative support to the project teamSupport client relationships and contribute to business development with local municipalitiesWhat you need to have:
BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university 10+ years of experience in roadway design Previous DOT experience Professional Engineer (PE) license Proven ability to meet DOT standards, schedules, and budgets Proficiency in OpenRoads (Geopak experience preferred) Strong knowledge of DOT design methods, standards, and specifications Demonstrated experience managing medium to large, multi-office, or concurrent projectsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelinesValid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)Bonus points if you have:
