    Shifts: 7PM – 7:30AM, 7AM- 7:30PM Location: Savannah, GA Duties: Under supervision the RN performs all duties of comprehensive behavioral health nursing services as qualified to provide to include but are not limited to: • Vital sign screenings • Urgent care assessments and treatment. • Provide Nursing Assessment at admission - perform initial assessment, health history, nursing assessment, risk assessment, routine laboratory studies as indicated or directed on every patient within two (2) hours of patient's arrival. • Conduct routine physical examinations upon patient's entry to the Department hospital site. • Dispense (including sub-cutaneous) injections and monitor medications per Doctor's orders. • Monitor Consumer vitals. • Document and record in Patient's record all nursing related encounters. • Performs approved techniques to prevent and safely manage aggressive behaviors. • Interface with Community Based Mental Health Provider, Hospitals, and entities for continuation of Patient Care, including transfer, bed information, etc. • Prepare patient information for transfers or discharges. • Provide Treatment and/or Medications in Emergency situations in accordance with medical services/Nursing Treatment protocols. • Participate in Disaster Drills and Emergency Training for Supplier Emergency Preparedness activities. • Responds to hospital codes as appropriate. • Work as a part of a cross-functional team, i.e. (Administrative Staff, Medical Records, Mental Health Technicians, Substance Use Disorder Clinicians, Security, Interns and Doctors) • Participates with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and revise treatment plans as well as discharge planning. • Perform general clerical duties to support patient record keeping and clinical operations. • Maintain acceptable standards of patient care consistent with Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Department policies. • Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with Supplier leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. RN Competency Skill Requirements: • RNs work experience with either Mental Health, Acute Care and Co-occurring Mental health settings is required for this Contract. • RN shall have basic office equipment (copier/fax) and computer literacy skills. • Experience with data or word processing applications (Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Access, Word, etc.) and working in an Electronic Health Record Management System. • RN shall be capable of communicating orally and in writing in English. • Perform visual, audio logical screening, tuberculosis (TB), HIV, Hepatitis C screening and pregnancy testing as indicated, within Twenty-Four (24) hours of admission, including reading TB test within Forty-Eight (48) hours of patient admission and enter all information in patients' electronic medical record and/ or physical medical chart as indicated or directed by Department. • Document Nursing notes, observations of specific physical or behavioral signs and symptoms. • Administer prescribed medication as ordered by a Physician. Transcribe orders to the appropriate Medication Administration Record. Order Medications from Pharmacy and check for accuracy when receiving medications before storing in a secure area. • Perform proper disposition of used hypodermic apparatus and biohazard waste. • Provide Health Education on a One-to-One (Nurse to Patient) basis. • Be able to recognize Medical Emergencies and respond appropriately. • Be able to identify and recognize any medical problems to escalate to the next level Provider (Supervisory Registered Nurse, attending Provider, medical director, or designee) Skilled in evaluating the effectiveness of the Nursing Care Plan Minimum Requirements: • Current, unencumbered License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or a state that that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact. • Minimum of 1 yr. of psychiatric nursing experience required. • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and have the strength to push and pull and stand for long periods of time. • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required Read Less

Previous experience in pain management or related fields is required, including knowledge of interventional pain management techniques, pharmacotherapy for chronic pain, and multimodal pain management strategies. Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military healthcare system, including TRICARE health benefits and familiarity with the unique needs of military families. Certification: Candidate must hold current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Maintenance of required certification is mandatory – OR – Must hold a Nurse Practitioner certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
