    Job Summary: The Quality Inspector ensures that all products comply with customer specifications, welding codes, and material standards.     Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Fitter position is responsible for fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material. For large or specialized projects, fitters are mainly involved with laying out and assembling subunits or units of materials which are then welded into position by welders. The position is responsible for ensuring the product is fitted to the specifications of each job and the outlined requirements consistent with production of quality UT passable welds. The fitters specialize in fitting transmission power poles, substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign poles and other tubular structures and have specific experience related to reading blueprints.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    High School Diploma or GED, plus 5 years minimum fitter experience or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable. Must possess Overhead and Jib Crane experience
    QUALIFICATIONS
    The incumbent must possess:
    Knowledge and understanding of welding symbols and diagrams
    Knowledge of how to use an Overhead and Jib Crane
    Thorough knowledge of welding equipment, including but not limited to, torches, torch tips
    Skill in reading blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts of welding symbols
    Ability to work in extreme temperatures (sometimes due to season)

    JOB SUMMARY
    Under the direction of the Welding Lead, the responsibilities of the Submerged Arc Welder (SAW) position include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. As a Submerged Arc Welder, you will work in coordination with the Shift Supervisor and other senior management to ensure that the entire customer product is fit and Welded to the specifications of each job and meets the outlined requirements. Consistent production of quality UT passable welds. Maintain production level as determined by the production supervisor.
    Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a joining process that involves the formation of an electric arc between a continuously fed electrode and the workpiece to be welded. A blanket of powdered flux surrounds and covers the arc and, when molten, provides electrical conduction between the metal to be joined and the electrode. It also generates a protective gas shield and a slag, all of which protects the weld zone.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    High School Diploma or GED required. Incumbent must possess a minimum of 1-2 years Sub arc welding experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    The ideal incumbent must possess:
    1.Knowledge of a variety of welder concepts, practices and procedures.
    2.Knowledge and understanding of welding symbols, and other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.3.Ability to use welding equipment such as Submerged Arc Welding Machine, torches and rose buds.
    4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    5.Ability to use temperature sticks and welding fillet gauges
