    Summary:


    Vighter is recruiting Flight Registered Nurses (RN) to conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) teams during deportation flights from El Paso, TX.

    Registered Nurses (RN) provide in-flight nursing services to DHS/ICE detainees being repatriated to their countries of origin. The RN reviews medical records to determine if detainees are capable of flying and will provide nursing services during the flight.


    Vighter’s Flight nurses work alongside uniformed DHS and ICE at numerous locations in Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and Louisiana. Candidates must be comfortable working in detention and flight settings. Services may be provided in a field setting with minimal facilities, a soft-sided (tent-type) facility, or a secure detention facility, such as a DHS/ICE Station or outpost collocated with international airports in sector, and in flight between the United States and various other countries.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    Provide complex and comprehensive nursing care for detainees. Conducts initial assessment on patients, assure provision of care, document all plans, assessments and care provided.Operate and monitor specialized equipment including, but not limited to oxygen, hypothermia units, and various types of suction apparatus, infusion equipment and vital sign monitors.Maintain highest regard for patient dignity, observe precepts of the AHA's Patient’s Bill of Rights.Services shall be provided by established standards, principles and professional ethics, applicable professional specialty organizations and the high standard for which Vighter is recognized.Functional proficiency and ability to document patient-centered health care in the required electronic health record or electronic medical record, in the required format, in a timely manner, and in compliance with contract policy and guidance.Medications will be administered only as prescribed by a credentialed medical provider (physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner).Involuntary medication will not be administered.Medication administration procedure must ensure that the correct medication, dose, time and route are administered to the correct patient.The flight nurses will maintain qualifications to provide urgent first responder care, including use of an Automated External Defibrillator.Application of medical principles, clinical procedures, and techniques.Alertness and skill in providing care and reacting to emergency situations.Basic safety, infection control, quality assurance, records managementExperience in a detention/correctional and/or pediatric setting is highly preferred.A deep sense of purpose and dedication to the United States and our U.S. Military Veterans, their Families, and other patients as assigned.An unshakeable adherence to quality and continuous process improvement.An apolitical, patient-centered focus that drives to enhanced care and patient satisfaction.Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Education:

    ASN or BSN from an accredited university is required, Registered Nurse License is required.

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as an RN in acute, ICU or emergency medicine.Must have and maintain certification in Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.Must be verbally proficient in both English and Spanish.


    Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:

    Flights are scheduled a minimum of one week out. Show time to the flight line is 90 minutes prior to wheels up (mission dependent, show times will be published by Site Lead personnel.)Generally, most flights leave early morning and return to the U.S. the same day. However, there are times when maintenance, refueling, or weather may cause delays at home or abroad.Flights canceled are non-compensable to flight nurses or crews. We strive to give as much notice as possible in the event of a flight delay or cancelation. The is an availability for Remain Overnight (RON) flights and Long Range (LRIF) which can last 3-4 days.All Flight Nurses start as part-time and work to full-time selection by the Site Lead and PM.


    Travel:

    This is an onsite position with the expectation of continuous travel.Work will be conducted at detention facilities and on air assets while in flight.Frequent travel by air to international locations will be a routine part of the job.Must possess a valid, non-expiring U.S. passport.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:

The Medical Administration Specialist is responsible for coordinating, managing, and supporting medical equipment accountability, medical logistics (MEDLOG), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) operations within healthcare facilities, military treatment facilities, federal healthcare systems, occupational health clinics, diagnostic imaging departments, and healthcare support programs.

    Medical Administration Specialist support equipment lifecycle management, medical supply procurement, inventory control, PACS administration support and compliance reporting.

    Principle Accountabilities:

    Maintains accountability for assigned medical equipment inventories, ensuring all equipment is properly tracked, documented, and maintained throughout its lifecycle. Coordinates medical equipment acquisition, receipt, distribution, deployment, relocation, replacement, and disposal activities. Monitors equipment utilization rates and identifies opportunities to improve asset management and resource allocation. Maintains equipment databases and inventory management systems to ensure accurate accountability records.  Coordinates procurement, receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment, and clinical consumables. Monitors inventory levels and usage trends to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory accumulation. Maintains accurate records within medical logistics and inventory management systems.
