Victory Deaf Academy is currently seeking a Certified Teacher of the Hearing Impaired (HI) who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to educate, inspire, and empower Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a fully inclusive, language-rich environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to Deaf and hard-of-hearing students using ASL as the primary mode of communication
Develop individualized and engaging lesson plans based on student needs and IEP goals
Create a positive, accessible, and culturally affirming classroom
Collaborate with families, support staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Participate in IEP development, progress monitoring, and professional development
Qualifications:
Valid certification in Hearing Impaired Education (Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing)
Fluent in American Sign Language (required)
Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's preferred)
Experience working in (ASL/English) education settings is a plus
Strong understanding of Deaf culture and Deaf education best practices
